Jisung's break ended up being three days long.
The phrase “it'll get worse before it gets better” could definitely be applied to his injuries.
Having fallen asleep during the movie that one night, Jisung woke up in the chair, practically unable to move.
His muscles had stiffened in the highly uncomfortable sitting position, despite all the cozy blankets wrapped around him.
The stiffness went away after a little while, but the aches and pains were back.
Well, they never left. But still, Jisung promised himself that he would not fall asleep in a chair again anytime soon.
That had set him back quite a few days, which was something he was not very thankful for.
He knew his body would need to heal before he could do anything too strenuous, and that was why he let himself rest.
It didn't mean he had to like it, though.
He needed to contact NASA. It was all he ever thought about the entire time that he was laying in bed, resting. Well, NASA and Minho.
Technically only NASA, since Minho was a part of it.
The elder was by far the most interesting part of his space training, if Jisung was being honest.
But that wasn't what Jisung wanted to think of now. Not as he was pulling on a space suit again, for the first time in over two weeks- almost three. The space suit was very similar to the one he'd been wearing when he'd been knocked away from his team.
He shuddered at the thought, shaking it off with difficulty. That was still a sore subject for him.
But, like with everything, those wounds would take time to heal. Time he didn't have.
So on Jisung went, connecting valves and tubes and screwing on his helmet.
At last he was ready to face the surface of the barren planet.
Sojourner was located just outside the HAB, parked right by one of the airlocks, ready to use.
That came in handy at times like these.
Sitting himself in the driver's seat, Jisung closed the door behind him and was able to take off his bubble-like helmet.
The rover had life support systems, and was able to supply a week's worth of air for one person at a time, before having to reload.
The rover truly was one of NASA's best creations.
In Jisung's opinion, anyway
Pulling away from the HAB, one hand on the controls, Jisung grabbed a map that he had made for himself earlier.
The isotope was only 5 kilometers away, and at the speed he was going, it shouldn't be too long of a drive.
The only problem was that Jisung had barely passed his driving test at NASA, scraping through with merely one point above failing, and a warning.
Manuvering his way over and across dunes of dust and rock, Jisung thought he was getting the hang of it.
Although, it'd be pretty hard to mess up driving at the speed he was going at.
Jisung wouldn't be surprised if it took an extra hour or two to get there at this snail's pace.
Hence, why he sped up.
Speeding up.
Accelerating.
Sounds so simple, right?
Why could those simple words have the capability of bringing such pain?
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Y'all probably hate me for that cliffhanger-
Y'know, I should pRObABLy stop making Jisung suffer and actually get on with the plot
IdK
This is nOT one of my better chapters, I can tell ya.
*Sigh*
Goobai for now
