Rye was slow to get back on his feet, but it happened. With his insistence, he worked himself back to a walking man. They were even gonna let him go early.  He was excited to finally leave the plain white hospital rooms and get back into the real world. He was tired of seeing the same four walls, even if he had only just woke up a couple weeks ago.

In those couple weeks, the only thing motivating Rye to keep going was Andy. AfterAndy left the hospital, Rye texted him. They had planned to meeting the day he got out.

Rye hasn't spoken to Andy since, yet Andy was the only thing on his mind. Every second of everyday rye was trying to get better so he can have a cup of coffee with him one last time.

"Hey rye! How you doing today?"

"Great, if I can go home?" Everyday, Rye would try to weasel himself a 'get out of jail free" card, but it never worked. But something about the nurses face was different than the times before.

"Well...you've had a lot of progress, and the doctor is thinking of letting you go today."

"Wait really?"

"Yes. But you'll still have to take care of yourself as you would here. And no driving and...well the doctor can speak to you about that stuff."

Once the doctor left, Rye immediately got out his phone to text Andy.

When Andy got the message, he stared at his phone in disbelief. It's been a few weeks, and they're already letting him go. Theres some cases where it can take 5 years to recover. It took Rye 3 weeks. But should Andy have expected any less?

Andy wanted to cancel on Rye, explain that it would be too hard, but he still found himself pulling the cold metal handle of the cafe open.

The bell from above rung as he looked around for the Brunet boy. There eyes met, and The corners of Ryes mouth turned up words into a smile. Andy's did not.

When Andy sat down, ryes smile slowly started slipping. His face now mirrored the confusion held in Andy's.

"Why did you invite me here?"

"Because I wanted to talk."

"Well get talking, because I have boxing class after this."

"You do boxing? Since when?"

"Yea, since you went into your coma."

"Why?" There's that question again. Why. Why do we do anything. What's the point. There is none. Andy bit back his tongue in restriction, attempting not to yell.

"Just because."

"Oh...ok."

Andy modded then took a sip of the coffee he ordered a while ago.

"So why'd you do it?" Andy asked. Finally letting the question he's been dying to find an answer to.

Rye looked down in shame. But he looked back to see the blue orbs that stopped him from shooting Andy. The same blue orbs of the boy he kissed. The same blue orbs of the boy he made love to. And yes, love.

Rye thought back to when his dad had told him of his assignment.

"Get off the couch." I did what I was told, terrified of the man who allowed me to live under his roof.

I had went to school, a fighting school. It was going to help me become a spy, but apparently this school wasn't ready for the twenty first century. Apparently being gay can still get you kicked out of some places.

My dad found out and allowed me to live under his roof under his rules. I was going to leave a while ago, but my dad wants me to stay.

He confuses me so much! He tells me he hates me, that I need to leave. But he pulls me back when I try to walk out the door.  I have a small apartment that he doesn't know about, but I have to come here at least three times a week to keep suspicion down. God only knows what he will do to me if he finds out.

I quickly got off the couch and placed my eyes on the wall behind my dads head, refusing to make eye contact.

"Yes?"

"I need you to do something for me?"

"What?"

"My job. Take this fine and shoot it through the head of Andy Fowler."

"My dad. He was an assassin. He said I needed to do his job. I tried to refuse but he said he would kill both me and you if I didn't. He would've done it himself but he said that 'he's gay too so you two should get along.' It was stupid logic but I was too scared to fight him on it. I'm still scared. But I couldn't shoot you. It was so terrifying, Andy. I saw you so close to dead. I had the power to control life. I didn't want to see you dead."

"So you shot yourself."

"Yea."

"Why do you have to be such a dick!" A few people stared at the two. Andy coughed and lowered his voice before speaking again.

"W-What do you mean?"

"You didn't want to see me dead, so you shoot yourself? You say I was so close to dead, but have you put yourself in my shoes?"

Rye shook his head. And wiped underneath his eyes.

"I don't think you understand how much you were bleeding. It was a lot. I still have the stains in the clothes I was wearing. I don't think you understand how much I love you and how much I hate myself for loving you. I can't do this I'm sorry."

Andy stood up and ran to the door, leaving Rye speechless and alone.
