POV: Priest
startled by the sudden wrappimg at the door I left my chores and hurries to the two large wooden doors and open them. I find a man and woman standing on the church stoop and smile. "A wedding? " I ask. they both nod and smile up at me. I received them in and lead them to the alter. " Normally weddings are planned, but I can see you two are eager to wed. " I say looking down on theur intertwined hands. I look up into the eyes of the two and smile knowing this is a pure love.
I hurry to get my bible. "What may i ask are your names?" the man jumps to my question. " Isi Monkey Nanook," I Look up in question. he smiles. " I have no given middle name. Minkey is a name my lovely future wife gave me." he says I nod. "And tou madam," I say geaturing towards the woman. "Averdine Anne Carol," she tells me. "Come my children," I say returning to the alter. "Please join hands." I begin reading, before I've even finished asking Isi if he takes Averdine hes said "I do." I get on with asking Averdine if she takes Isi and she smiles shyly and says. "I do." "the power vested in me by this statr and the holy catholic church I now pronounce you man and wife. you may kiss your bride." I tell him. he takes her in his arms and kisses her. I have to admit that was the shortest wedding I have ever over scene. but the couple is happy. I go back to my chores and the happy couple leaves and just before they close the door. Young Averdine comes hurrying up the isle. She smiles and gives me a hug. "Thank you so much father." I smile back. "God be with you my child." her smile stretches across her face and she turns to leave. she stops turns around bows her head, crosses herself and leaves. the door shuts quietly and I sit on a pew and smile up at the crucifix. "I pray those children know what their doing." I say. I stand and continue with my chores.
Those children may be special. perhaps that is why the father sent them to me...I wonder.
