"Oops." Michael said sarcastically as he purposely knocked your books out of your hand. His stunt earned him a few laughs from his entourage. They all walked away as you bent down to pick up your books.
As you walked into class, you noticed Michael staring at you, but he quickly looked away. You sat in silence the whole literature class, sighing in relief as the bell finally rang, and you were free to leave.
You made your way to your locker, but just before you got there, you felt a cold hand on your shoulder. You spun around expecting to see Michael, but instead you were face to face with one of his buddies, Luke.
"Hey, Ruby, missing anything?" He asked slyly. You looked around, suddenly realizing your back pocket was empty. You looked up to see your cell phone in his hand.
"Hey! Give that back!" You yelled, trying to grab the phone out of his hands, but to no avail, you were too short.
"F*** off, Luke." You heard a voice say from behind Luke. He quickly snatched the phone out of his outstretched hand. Luke gave Michael a confused look before walking away.
"Here." He said, handing you the device.
"Thank you." You whispered, confused by his actions.
"He's a dick." He shrugged. This made you giggle because he was honestly just as much of a dick as Luke.
"What?" He laughed with you, not knowing he was laughing at himself.
"Nothing, nevermind. Thanks for your... Help." You said hesitantly.
"No problem. You're cute, ya know." And with that, he walked away, leaving you completely and utterly confused.
