Tentatively, The King and Queen sat down. This time their heads were clear and they were ready for anything.
"So.... You're back?" The Mayor questioned, speaking carefully as not to hurt anyone's feelings.
"We... We wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes or anything but we've made a mistake. We should have loved our son, disabled or not. We want to come clean and be honest with everyone. That way, your town's people can learn that we make mistakes too. And that that is OK: as long as you learn." The King hung his head, clearly tired.
"And that love wins over anything and everything else," The Queen added in a whisper.
"We want to make a speech. We want to come clean to the whole town." The King added hesitantly.
"I see." The Mayor clicked his fingers and waved to his butler ceremoniously. "Set up the stage for our Royal Highnesses. They wish to speak to our citizens."
"Right away, Sir." And with that, the butler was gone.
