2- Falling hopes

Sunlight was drowning Thunderclan camp calmly . The birds sang a beautiful melody , the air was fresh and the strong breeze woke up Moonfrost .  The relaxing sound of leafs moving with the wind took her attention , she felt tired and weak but still was happy . She moved her tail as her belly crushed the floor painfully . When she looked down , it was now huge . I will have my kits very soon !!

A lot  moons have passed since Shank joined Thunderclan. The young tom adapted quickly to their warrior code and to the wild . Although everyone hated him the day he arrived , he gained their respect after saving Frecklekit and Moonfrost from almost drowning some moons ago . Hawkstar asked him to change his name , but Shank refused claiming that it was important to him to keep it . Moonfrost and Shank became closer friends at first but after moons of friendship Shank told her he loved her and that he always wished having kits with her . Moonfrost was unsure at first but she was never loved before so been with Shank really made her felt special for the first time in her life . Now she was pregnant and will give birth very soon .

" Ow! " Moonfrost growled trying to stand up by herself. She was very happy to have her own kits but she hated been so useless to her clan while she was pregnant . " Don't move Moonfrost ! " It was Brighstream, a golden tabby she-cat  with dark ginger  stripes with beautiful golden eyes .

" You will give birth very soon , don't force yourself." The queen purred softly putting her paw over Moonfrost's tail .
" But I want to go out , it's so boring been always here doing nothing " Moonfrost growled softly .
"Very soon you will have a lot of work , I promise. " Brighstream laughed and suddenly a tiny dark ginger cat interrupted both queens , his whiskers twitching in happiness.

" So I will have friends very soon ? " Asked the little kit to his mother . Brighstream glared at Moonfrost kindly . " Yes , very soon you will have some kits to play here at the maternity Redkit. " Brighstream purred to her son .
I am so excited to have kits of my own , Redkit looks so beautiful with his mother .
" So ,when will you bring me my friends ? " Redkit asked to Moonfrost , who blinked in surprise by the question .
" I don't know yet darling. " She giggled and sent a light blow with her tail to Redkit's nose . The young kit was born like a moon ago , so Moonfrost was excited to see him be friends with her kits very soon .  " But I promise it won't be long ! " Moonfrost laughed .

Suddenly Moonfrost managed to stand up again , this time her belly didn't hurt that much and the shecat begun walking to the entrance .

" Where are you going ? " Brighstream asked .

" To get some prey. "

" But isn't Shank the one supposed to bring you food ? " Brighstream asked cautiously.  " My mate always brings me food since I was pregnant "

" Shank sees I am a independent cat . " Moonfrost said . " He wants me to feel useful at least ." Moonfrost moved her ears uncomfortable by the look of Brighstream , but she turned away as quick as possible .

Why do some cats still believe Shank is a bad cat ? Hasn't he prove himself enough to satisfy all Thunderclan cats ?

When she got out of the maternity , the fresh scent of cats surrounded Moonfrost . Cats all around her where going out in patrols or training their apprentices . At the distance she spotted Flaretail bringing back prey with her apprentice , Jayflight . Moonfrost noticed Hawkstar talking with his deputy in the High Rock . She felt how her belly was asking for food .

I won't let my kits starve.

She walked toward the fresh-kill pile and noticed it was full . She moved her tail in frustration when she remembered she haven't contribute to the hunting of her clan for so many moons that now she felt like she didn't deserve it .
