City Of No Hearts // A Lost Soul story

1- The newcomer

The sun shone brightly in the forest. The birds sang quietly on the highest branches of the pines. The sound of the river called the attention of the bluish cat that was silently walking through the trees . 2 other cats where following the she-cat , all moving as quiet as the wind .
The she cat noticed a fat vole eating some seeds near the riverbank , she moved her tail pleased .
The cat jumped and quickly caught the vole, killing it with a powerful bite .

" Wow what a great catch Moonfrost !!" Meowed a voice behind Moonfrost . She looked over her shoulder with the vole on her jaws ,twitching her whiskers .

" Thank you Timberpelt " she purred , moving her tail pleased to surprise her brother . Suddenly she nodded at the other tom that was with her . He was busy looking around him , fur bristled and with his ears raised ready to hear everything around him .

" Brookfall " Moonfrost growled at first .Brookfall ignored her and continued looking around him . " Brookfall !! " Moonfrost growled louder to the tom , who blinked in surprise when he notice he wasn't listening .

" Oh ... what a great catch sister !!" He purred distractingly, looking around him once again , moving his large and fluffy tail with anxiety . Moonfrost sight tired then looked to her oldest brother .
" What's the matter with you Brookfall ?" She asked worried for him , hiding the vole inside a bush . She raised her chin and looked him directly to the eyes " Since we started the patrol you are not here with us " she meowed softly .

Brookfall's eyes widened " Oh of course I am here with you !!" He looked at his sister . " I am just worried about the prey stealer " he admitted sniffing the air .
" Oh c'mon we don't even know yet who this prey stealer is " Timberpelt laughed , jumping into a broken branch and stretching a bit . " Why are you so worried if they haven't steal prey from Thunderclan yet ? " he yawned .

" Well we don't know yet if it's a single cat " Brookfall whispered , looking around him once again with a serious expression . " Riverclan already complained about a mysterious cat stealing their prey , it won't be long to this cat to reach our border " Brookfall growled .

" And we will be ready to rip his fur off if he dares crossing Thunderclan's border !!" Moonfrost meowed softly to his oldest brother . " Oh I will love to teach that cat a lesson !!" Timberpelt laughed  interrupting them . " Just imagine how scared he will look after fighting me !!" He puffed his chest proudly and unsheathing his claws .
" Still we have to double check the border " Brookfall's serious tone annoyed Moonfrost .

" C'mon we still can have fun while patrolling !! " she meowed to Brookfall
" Not today Moonfrost , I don't want to get in trouble with Hawkstar if he finds out we were playing during our patrol " Brookfall laughed .

" Mean grumpy furball !!" Timberpelt , with a friendly blow  he pushed his brother to the side .
" So if you don't want any problems with Hawkstar , how will you explain him you haven't catch anything yet ?" Timberpelt challenged him laughing
" Oh well I don't see prey on your yaws either " Brookfall giggled .

Suddenly Moonfrost turned around when a tiny mouse was hiding under the roots of a fallen tree next to the river . She was about to tell her litter mates when Timberpelt meowed " Mouse !!" As fast as a thunder Timberpelt ran toward the mouse , ignoring if he was doing noise or not .

" That's not fair I saw it first !" Brookfall ran after his brother , both fighting to see who will catch the mouse first . Moonfrost laughed when she saw both of her litter mates fighting over a mouse . At least Brookfall forgot about that stupid prey stealer .  The 3 young warriors ran for the mouse as if they were once again kits .Brookfall jumped over Timberpelt to stop him and managed to catch the mouse first .
