___Sam's POV___

As the time passed and the sky darkened, we were greeted with our usual flood of people. Almost all of them were regulars, it wasn't normal to go to the so called "freak bar" for a night out.

I was in my element, pouring yet another cranberry vodka for a familiar face, when a voice snapped me out of my trance,

"How are you doing sweetie?"

I looked up from the drink to see Nat leaning against the bar, staring me down.

"Fine, bit of movement pain but it'll pass"

"I was just thinking, if you left that pathetic excuse for a man then where are you going to sleep?"

I shrugged and turned round to slide the glass to the man waiting.

"Don't know, I was gonna ask you if I could stay here till I can get an apartment or something. Would that be ok?"

"Yeah, I would check with Leah first though"

"Who?"

She gave me a look witch suggested I should have know who this Leah was,

"Your coworker? You've been working together for like three mont-"

A glass smashed somewhere in the crowd. It was loud and sudden. I hate loud and sudden noises.

Almost as soon as I heard it I snapped my head towards the source and I swear to god I saw him at the door. I though I saw Jay. But it could be him right?

All of a sudden everything became too much. The walls felt like they were closing in, the blue flashing lights became too bright and the noise of the crowd and music was unbearable.

I backed up into the counter and my breathing increased to a faster pace. I felt like I was suffocating. I covered my ears with my hands and closed my eyes as tight as I could so no light could get in.

I felt a pair of hands grab me by the shoulders and I flinched. But ultimately i let them drag me out back and into the ally way.

I didn't know I was crying until I opened my eyes to see who had dragged me out, expecting to see Nat staring back at me.

Instead it was who I could only assume to be Leah. She had one hand on my shoulder and one on my upper arm, trying to get me to sit down.

I was still crying and panting like I had just run a marathon and I refused to sit down.

"It's ok, you need to calm down, breath Sam"

What she was saying felt pretty useless. All the same I tried to listen.

"I.. i ... I can't. I'm so, so scared and I don't... don't know why."

This was new. If never stuttered before

"Its alright, you're gonna be fine, you need to concentrate on your breathing ok? In and out, deep breaths"

I nodded frantically and tried to do what she had said. I grabbed onto her with shaky hands, trying to steady myself as I slowly but surely regulated my breathing.

"That's it, you're ok. I've got you."

I leaned my head back and stared up at the sky. The stars were out, dotted across the darkness like little fire flys.

I felt Leah's hands move from my shoulder to my hand and she grasped it softly.

"You alright?"

I nodded. And for once, I actually meant it.
