in the ambulance

once they had the captain up the cliff now it was Herrera's turn to be taken to the top of the hill along with her friends who are rescuing her.

Maya: okay its finally time to get you strapped into the stretcher and we are going to lift you into the stretcher and then transfer you to the spine board once at the top but it will be painful.

Andy: I gathered just get on with it.

Maya and jack grab Andy and they move her to the stretcher which made and scream in pain when someone touched her ribs, once the screams calmed down the two lieutenants attached the ropes to the stretcher and then themselves, then here came the hard part walking up the hill whilst guiding the stretcher, but between the two they did it.

once at the top everyone except for Ripley who went to the hospital with the captain, help tend to Andy.

Travis put the spine board on the floor ready to transfer there friend to.

Maya: okay lets transfer her to the spine board, but go slow she has possible internal bleeding and rib fractures and an injured shoulder.

Jack: warren stay back get ready to look at Andy, be doctor for once, everyone else listen, vic grab her shoulders, Maya take her head and neck, dean take her thighs and I will take her feet and Travis guide us to the spine board.

All: everyone answers to the jobs.

with everybody doing what Gibson said they managed to transfer andy to the spinal board and strap her down with blankets over her and an oxygen mask over her face to help her breathe, then they transferred her to the trolley and soon she was loaded into the ambulance.

Maya: Gibson I want to go with her.

Jack: fine the rest of us will drop the vehicles off at base and someone has to tell Pruitt, then we will be at the hospital in no time.

Maya: okay.

Andy: maya(groans andy through the oxygen mask).

Maya climbs in the ambulance and she goes and sits beside andy, she takes her hand in hers as andy held out her hand.

Maya: hey am here and when you are better I have something to tell you.

Andy: you could tell me now keep me occupied while on our way to hospital.

Maya: something you want to tell me Herrera.

Andy: like what?

Maya: is there a reason you are holding my hand?

Andy: okay am scared about the outcome and the accident, and my dad isn't here.

Maya: hey its okay to be scared for once we are only human, and I am here for you and we are going to grey sloan and we are nearly there.

Andy: I thought it was in accessible.

Maya: well someone had a quiet word and they managed to make some room to get the ambulances through.

Andy: great.

Maya: well stop worrying we are here now.

2 hours after people got stuck in the lifts

Miranda's office

everyone was safely out the lifts and working to treat patients, apart from the building maintenance man who got his legs crushed between the lift, after having a melt down in her office and asking karev to stay on as a doctor Miranda stood next to Alex when her pone rang, she answered it and she was shocked at what she was being told, alex sees her worried look on her face and once she is finished on the phone he asks her.

she puts the phone down.

Alex: bailey whats up?

Miranda: err we have 3 incoming and we are the closest hospital.

Alex: you do know it is hardly accessible for ambulances to get in.

Miranda: well try and move the stuff we have three critical patients on the way in needing urgent medical treatment.

Alex: okay and is there anything else I can do?

Miranda: come with me and treat one of the incoming.

Alex: okay now calm down I need more information.

Miranda: the patient and two firefighters are being brought in.

Alex: oh god its not ben is it?

Miranda: no but the firefighter is the daughter of one of my cancer patients.

Alex: wait not the hot lieutenant.

Miranda: yeah Andy Herrera.

Alex: okay come on lets go I will page grey I think she may want to be in on this since she helped treat her father, and I heard her patient died on the table.

Miranda: page her.

emergency department

Owen and teddy  and Amelia stood talking and bickering about there current predicament, whilst Richard and the interns stood in a group eagerly awaiting to hear why they were paged to the er along with nearly all the heads of departments.

Alex and Miranda walk to the nurses station when they were bombarded with people with questions.

Miranda: people listen up I asked you here because I have just received a call about three critical patients on the way in, now we have managed to move the debris from the ambulance bay, but the patients need to come here since we are the closest hospital.

Owen: okay lets make sure theatre is free and get trauma rooms cleared.

Meredith: so how were the patients injured?

Miranda: err car crash and I must warn you we will be having loads of people waiting for news so just be warned they will be scared and worried.

Maggie: so what injuries are we expecting?

Alex: err broken bones, one patient has compartment syndrome and she had treatment in the field for it already, and one has suspected punctured lung and internal bleeding.

Meredith: so we are all hands on then?

Miranda: yeah and grey you and me are working on one of the female patients, link can take the one compartment syndrome.

Meredith: okay but I think there is something your not telling us and why are you upset.

Alex: she is upset because she thought her husband was hurt in the crash but it was two of his colleagues.

Meredith: wait it was a fire engine that crashed.

Miranda: no it was the ambulance, Andy Herrera and her captain where in the truck along with there patient but lets not talk since the ambulances are here.

everyone runs out to the ambulance bay they stand still and soon three ambulances pull in and then the back doors open, and all hell breaks loose.
