Tatsumi was really hoping for the cash. When he saw the flyer for the tournament, he thought it would be a piece of cake. He began to pat himself on the back for thinking about how amazing his plan was, but stopped when he saw his competitor.

Announcer: And now, ladies and gentlemen, for our final battle, to our East we have the blacksmith, Tatsumi! And to our West, the Scorpion, Hanzo!

Tatsumi didn't know who this guy was, but he looked dangerous. Why, he just couldn't quite put his finger on it.

On the otherside of the stage, Hanzo studied the boy in front of him, and could tell he was quite skilled. However, he also knew the boy didn't stand a chance.

Hanzo was here hoping the Lin Kuei bastard Sub-Zero would be in the tournament, but he wasn't. Sighing at his misfortune, he took up a stance, as did Tatsumi.

~Flashback~

Hisashi woke up, laying down on a patch of stone. He was disoriented and blinded by the sun. When he stood up, he noticed he was still on the mountain he climbed to get the imperial arms.

After drinking from the vial, everything became a blur. What happened to him? How did he end up here? These questions were halted when he noticed all the snow alongside the mountain. It was strange to him, because the snow fell from the sky still, and yet, he was dry and standing on a dry patch.

He took a step forward and watched as the snow he walked towards began to melt at a fast rate. Then, he finally noticed why all the snow around him was melting and he was still dry. His body was covered in flames.

He began examining his arms and legs. His clothes were still fine, thanks to the Sorcerer Quan Chi, who gave him fire proof clothing.

Hanzo: This is incredible.

Then he remember why he got the imperial arms in the first place. His mission, to kill Sub-Zero and claim vengeance for the massacre of his clan.

He looked back down at himself and tried to will the flames away, but failed. He tried patting them away, but again failed. Lastly, he sat down crossed-legged, eyes closed and meditated. He breathed in and out slowly, with the flames dying down little by little, until eventually he felt the snow falling on his head.

Hanzo: Well, it's a start.

He began making his way down the mountain, and back towards the Sorcerer's hut. When he arrived, however, the hut was abandoned. It was as if no one ever lived there.

While he found it strange, Hanzo didn't stick around to figure out where he went. He went off to find his clans murderer, and tear him limb from limb.

He spent 2 months honing his newfound power and traveling all over, looking for Sub-Zero. Eventually his search brought him to the Capital. Here he heard about the tournament and joined, hoping to find the Lin Kuei dog.

~End of Flashback~

The Cyromancer never showed, and Hanzo was disappointed. He decided that he would end this match quickly. As soon as the match began, Hanzo dissapeared in a puff of flames.

Tatsumi never saw it coming. One second this Scorpion guy is a few feet in front of him, then the next he had punched him in the gut. He doubled over in pain, wind having been knocked out of him. Then he saw a knee come right towards his face. He fell over, clutching his face.
