Crystal's POVWe ran for what seemed like hours even if it was a few minutes, when she was sure we were safe from the giant group of people she stopped and let go of my wrist.
"Thank you," I told her as we both tried to catch our breath. "It was no problem really," she replied. "Are you sure?" I asked her, "Yes I'm sure." We started to walk down the hall in silence. "I'm sorry but do I know you?"
"Well you used to," she replied with sadness in her voice. Seeing her like that made me feel really bad. "Well we can always start again right?" I asked. Her face lit up as she said "Yes of course!" Seeing her happy made me just as happy. It was a nice change from all the sad people who are heartbroken that I didn't remember them. "So what's your name?" I asked her trying to get to know her for the second time. "My name is Melody," she said excited to be talking to me. It felt nice to talk to someone besides an adult for once. The only people I've talked to since I woke up was the nurses, doctors, my parents, and the woman who showed me my classes so talking to someone my age was nice.
Melody and I talked all day she showed me around the school as if I was a new student and, we ended up having the same lunch so that was awesome! I just started talking to her today and she already feels like a sister. She had told me what we liked to do together and I felt like I belonged again. "I just wanted to say thank you," I told her. "What for?" She asked, "Well ever since I woke up I didn't feel like I belonged anywhere I went," Melody looked at me with tears in her eyes. "But talking to you and learning new things about myself made me feel like I belong."
"Well I'm happy I could help." She said with a big smile on her face. I was starting to think that getting in a car crash wasn't going to be the worst thing that happened to me.
And I was right.
