Adrien enters the mansion. He is glad to see his father is ready for a talk. He thinks, now is my chance to tell him how I want to marry Lila! He should know this as I have been going out with her for awhile now. Just the same, I should let him know, so he too can be happy for us!
"Adrien, sit down! We need to talk," Gabriel Agreste says with this stern look in his eyes.
"I agree, father." Adrien says as he takes a seat.
"Well, I am glad we are in agreement on something then. " Gabriel remarks.
"Father, I need to tell you something important you see Lila and I are in love!" Adrien says.
"Well, that is a pity indeed son! You see you can not marry her!" Gabriel says.
"What? What do you mean?" Adrien ask.
"You are to marry Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the richest girl in town! You see we are down on our finances lately," Gabriel says.
"I can not marry her when I love Lila!" Adrien says. He is furious with his father right now.
" Do not be silly, Adrien! You can and will marry Marinette!" Gabriel says.
"What will I tell Lila?" Adrien says in shock.
"Tell her that you never want to see her again, and that you must remain true to your fiance, Marinette!" Gabriel says.
"Fiance? I am enagaged to a complete stranger?" Adrien says. He is even more angry than he was before now.
"Yes, you are and you will marry her for the sake of the money! She will make you a rich man!" Gabriel says.
"This seems so wrong." Adrien says.
"Well, it is a business deal. You see you marry her for the money , and you stay with her for three whole years! Otherwise, we loose out on the wealth, and become poor as ever! " Gabriel says.
"So, I have no choice in the matter! I either marry her and get the money, or I do not and we loose everything? " Adrien says.
"Yes, that is it! " Gabriel says.
"Fine, I will marry her, father, but not for love. I will never love her. I will always love Lila. " Adrien says.
"Good, I am glad we agree because soon you will meet her!" Gabriel says.
Adrien goes to his room. He sits on his bed in shock. He feels tears fall down his face as he realizes the truth of this whole matter. He has to break up with Lila, the one girl who understands him, the girl who loves him and the one he loves as well. With a heavy heart he sneaks out of the house and goes to see her.
"Hey, Lila!" Adrien says.
"Hey, darling! Miss me already?" Lila teases him.
"Yes, only I have bad news." Adrien says.
"Well, what is it?" Lila ask.
Adrien explains what his father told him.
"I am so sorry, Lila! This means we can not be together anymore. So consider us threw. We are no longer boyfriend and girlfriend. Good bye, my love!" Adrien says.
"I am sorry, I ever fell for you! I am sorry, I kissed you! You traitor!" Lila says. She takes off the class ring he gave her years ago and throws it at him.
"Hope you are happy with your rich wife!" Lila says angrily, shoves him out the door and onto the porch. She slams the door in his face.
Lila sobs at the cruelty of it. She thought for a moment he had come to propose, but no he came to break her heart.
Adrien goes home sad. He thinks, Lila will never forgive me. I lost her forever and all because I have marry some stranger. Some Marinette person just for stupid, money to make us all rich ! He goes home and returns to his room. He is angry, sad, and confused. He thinks, Marinette better not ever love me. I can never love her! Never!
