Lupin froze on his tracks, looking terrified at the storm about to come.
"You used the curse of the middle name Evans" James said through a smile.
Lily revealed a book that she had been carrying and smacked James in the face with it.
"Do you feel smarter now Prongs?" Sirius joker as James fell to the ground with his hands over his face.
"Shut up Sirius!" Lily snapped. She turned to Lupin. "And what do you have to say? How dare you not try to stop your friends from hurting Severus! I saw you chase after them when they caught sight of him. I thought you had it covered so I didn't come help you. Now I see that I was wrong"
"If your so worried about what they do, then you follow them around and make sure they don't get into trouble, be my guest" Remus pushed past her and continued on his way to the Gryffindor Tower.
"Alright, I will!" Lily said threateningly.
She stormed ahead of the group with her nose in the air. They were all frozen in place -except for James who was rolling on the floor in pain- watching Lily disappear around the corner.
    "That went well" Peter whispered.
"It definitely did. You okay Prongs?" Sirius asked as he pulled James to his feet.
"Yeah. Just a sore mouth and nose" James answered wiping the blood from his lip.
    "Brilliant!"
"Definitely! Can you believe she just hit me? If only she had slapped me with her hand instead of the book" James said steadying himself.
"James, two things. First, she will not be your doe and you will not be her stag. Second, her hand would have stung instead of hurt like the book" Remus explained, clearly annoyed.
"I can still try! Anyway let's get back to the common room before Filch shows up fuming about the drop of blood on the floor" James argued.
They walked through the corridors in surprising silence, until they heard a small 'meow' come from behind them. They turned in fear and saw the cat with lamp-like eyes that belonged to the caretaker, Mr. Filch. Ms. Norris whisked around to get her owner. Seconds later, Filch turned the corner.
"Students our of bed you say my sweet?" He caught sight of the group. "Well look here. What do we have?"
"Moony, get us out of this. You've worked us out of a corner before" Sirius whispered into Remus's ear.
"Doesn't look good for you Lupin. I expect you'll get your Prefect Badge taken tomorrow morning" Filch added. Luckily, Professor Slughorn happened to be near enough to hear them.
"What's going on hear?" Slughorn asked.
"I just caught these four out of bed" Filch answered.
"Professor? I was just escorting James, Sirius, and Peter back from their detention in the Trophy Room" Remus informed them.
"Very well. I don't see a good reason for you to report them, Argus. Well, goodnight!" Slughorn said as he turned to walk away.
"Alright, your free to go" Filch was disappointed as he too, walked away.
When they got back to their dormitories, they changed into their pajamas and crawled into their four-posters. Remus was reading a book when Sirius spoke.
"Hey, tomorrow's Saturday right? Isn't it a Hogsmeade weekend?"
    "Mmhmm" James agreed.
Remus sighed in annoyance, putting down his book, knowing that tomorrow was going to be troublesome.
