"You have a beautiful house. You must be like really rich."
Kristen spoke but immediately regretted it when she realized she was probably conceived the same way considering her house was bigger.
"Uh no not really, my father, James Chutney, he's the mayor of Pebble Beach. We sort of got this house for free."
Kristen was in the presence of the mayor's son & making accusations about him. She wanted to start over at Pebble, not dig her grave the first day she arrived.
"Oh wow i'm so sorry i didn't know."
Kristen looked down at her feet, something she had a habit of doing when she was embarrassed.
"Well of course you didn't," Dylan eagerly spoke. "But hey, I normally don't tell anyone, i don't want them to treat me different so just don't tell anyone okay?"
"That won't be a problem, your the only person i know here."
Kristen laughed and flashed a smile showing off her acceptably shiny teeth. Dylan laughed realizing she was right, she really didn't know anybody else. Dylan was so innocent looking, Kristen didn't peg him for a fisherman due to his looks. He looked more like a soccer player who went to some preppy rich private school were all the boys wore khaki pants far too tight and navy blue polos. Kristen wanted to be-friend him though, considering she would be here all summer and knew not a soul.
