We were walking down the road heading to Marco's and we could already hear the loud booming music. His house isn't that far from mine. I think it usually takes me solid 5 minutes to get to him.
Living near each other is the only reason I became buddies with him. We kind of grew up together, and even though he seems like a total douchebag, he's actually a really pleasant companion.
Our parents are the bestest friends, which is why I often used to sleep over at Marco's, because my mom and dad had business trips they had to go to.
They were away for weeks. I didn't miss them as much as I am supposed to. I still don't.
The music became way louder when we arrived.
We were all standing on the front yard, watching teenagers drink, make out and even puke. We walked into the house, heading for the kitchen, which was relatively difficult. There were way too many people standing in the hallway.
"Get out the way you ninny hammer!!" Joseph yelled. He pushed people recklessly out of his path.
"You go girl!" Emma applauded.
We all followed Joseph, when we finally entered the kitchen.
The music was still loud, but it didn't bother me. I enjoy good music, especially this song 'Only One' from Voost. It got me bouncing to the beat.
"I'll go look for Marco and tell him that we're here."
"I'll come with you."
Both Lauren and Emma made their way back through the crowded hallway. Joseph and I looked at each other.
"Booze?"
"Booze!" I shot back.
"Someone's eager to get drunk," He poured some cider into two cups.
"Is it because of Preston?"
I didn't want to talk about him. I should be over him by now...
"Who?" I asked stupidly.
"Oh come on! Preston Valentine? The one who dumped you for Montverde Academy? For his career as a basketball--" He continued in a 'duh' tone.
"Fine, fine," I gave up. "I'm done with him, ok? I just want to enjoy this party and that won't happen if y'all don't stop mentioning... him.".
"Alright Cam. We'll enjoy this party," he mocked me," and we'll eye fuck all the hotties here. I still can't believe how many attractive guys came. Still nothing in comparison to Valen--". I hit him in the chest aggressively.
"I told you to stop!" I shrieked, feeling the corners of my mouth slightly go up.
"I'll stop, I swear," He laughed, rubbing his chest from the pain I apparently caused.
We took our cups and headed to the living room.
Joseph carried a bottle of vodka with him for 'when we want to properly wreck our immune systems'.
He'll probably drink so much again, he won't remember anything the next day. Thank god it's Friday.
When we reached the living room, I heard a girl start yelling. Both Joseph and I watched the scene in front of us:
A blonde girl my age was furiously screaming at a guy facing her. I could only see his back and his more or less curly brown hair.
She then spilled her drink all over his torso, leaving the crowd that formed around them astonished and gasping. She quickly disappeared and everyone recovered quite fast and continued whatever they were doing.
