"The usual?"

"Yeah, the usual please."

We were sitting at our designated table in a cute little restaurant known for its delicious desserts. It resembled Starbucks with how it was furnished and its atmosphere created by the high dark green walls and the light brown wood columns.

Waffles are our favorite at Elly's. Not only do they make them all fluffy and sweet, but they also give you three waffles when you ask for them and put a lot of strawberries and chocolate sauce on top.

We would all meet at Elly's every Sunday morning and take our breakfast together, eating waffles and vanilla ice cream, except for Nathaniel. He always orders strawberry ice cream.

"You really seemed to enjoy yesterday, Nate." Lauren stated with the biggest grin possible.

"Oh yeah, I did. Nothing better than getting a birthday kiss from a pretty girl."

"Ha! More like ten girls." Emma said.

Nathaniel ran his hand through his hair "I didn't want to boast..."

Marco and Joseph laughed at that.

"Yeah, well, congratulations mate! You're officially the humblest player in Miami!"

"I'm not a player! I just enjoy female company more than others!"

"Yeah whatever." Marco rolled his eyes.

"Six waffles with chocolate sauce and strawberries, five vanilla ice creams and one strawberry ice cream." The servant placed the plates in front of us, already knowing who the strawberry ice cream was meant for.

"Thank you!" Emma replied, eyes wide and licking her bottom lip, ready to devour what's in front of her.

"ON THREE!" I shouted. "ONE," everyone grabbed their cutlery "TWO," I counted, intentionally taking my time to make them suffer "THREE!!!". We ate like savages and probably looked like it with all the chocolate sauce on our faces! Oh my god. This tasted so good, it should be illegal.

In less than ten minutes we finished our plates and ice creams. Marco placed his hands behind his neck and leaned back, staring at me from across the table.

"What?"

"Nothing," He leaned forward, putting his elbows on the table. "It's just.."

"Stop torturing me. Tell me already!" I mimicked his pose.

"I don't know why you were farther away from the party, but at some point I noticed Reed keeping you company." He smirked.

"So what?"

"Were you two singing together?" he rhetorically asked me.

The question got everyone excited, especially Lauren and Emma:

"Noo Waay! Stop! Oh this is exactly like High School Musical!" Lauren shrieked, covering her mouth with her hands.

"Almost," I answered, " just with the difference that he was comforting me as a friend." I emphasized the last word to make them understand that there is nothing between us. He may be my knight in shining armor, but that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. No romantic feelings involved. Now that's exactly why I hate overthinking: things that seemed obvious before are questioned and everything that made sense a while ago doesn't anymore. Why was I even doubting my feelings towards Reed? I barely know him! And I don't think I'll get to know him any time soon.

"Camille?" Marco tore me away from my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"How are you feeling?"
