It became Saturday morning as the sun rose up over the town and ignited the light across all the houses.
"I'll see you later Nana!" Eli said as he headed out for the door. "Put on a coat," Nana said from the couch as she read an article from her phone with her special reading glasses on. He opened the door and put out his arm, "It's not even that cold," He pleaded. She slowly lowered her phone and glared towards his way as if fire surrounded her eyes, "Put on a coat," She continued. "Why you always gotta release your wrath on me?" He whined as he reached over for his coat. "You think that was wrath? I'll show you wrath," She said as she began to stand up. "No-No, it's fine. I'll wear a coat. Bye," He said nervously and walked outside. Nana then smiled as she comfortably sat down, "There was no way I was gonna move," She chuckled to herself. "Man she's crazy," Eli said as he walked towards his open garage. He sighed slightly to see the last part he needed which was the engine. "You mind if I help?" Josh asked as he walked out from the side. "Were you there the entire time?" Eli asked. "Kinda. You are the new beta so I have to make sure you don't do stupid stuff," Josh smiled with his hands in his pockets. "Ok then, you have a point. But do you know anything about cars?" He asked as he held up a wrench. "Are you kidding? Also, that's the wrong tool. You need to use this," Josh said as he pointed to his head.
*1 hour later*
"So why are you rebuilding this car anyway?" Josh asked as he sat down near a worn out stool. "It's kind of... the last thing I have of my parents," Eli said slowly as he opened up the door of the car and sat inside the driver seat. Josh walked around the car and sat inside the passenger seat next to him. "If you don't mind, how did it get so banged up?" Josh asked softly. "The story that my nana told me was that when they were out of town for the weekend. I was barely born so I was left at home. Supposedly, the only way back to town was on a cliff. So they took that route but it started raining heavy hail. One struck the car and broke the windshield. The damage was nothing at first until a car in front of them spun out of control. It was a bad crash... they were thrown off the cliff and the car did the dirty work. That's why I wanna fix this car. It's the one they took," Eli said softly as grasped the wheel and lowered his head. "Are you okay?" Josh asked. "Yeah. It's hard to cry over someone that you don't know but it hurts because you'll never get to meet them," He said as he laid back and looked at Josh. "Why are you here with me? Shouldn't you be with the others," Eli stated.
"Let's just say that I'm different from them," Josh said as he stepped out of the car and walked over to the engine. "What do you mean by different?" Eli asked as he follows him out. "I'll put it like this. Imagine a family. One parent, three brothers and one sister. You have the oldest and you have the youngest. In this case, it's the most experience to the least experienced," Josh said as he gestured Eli to help him. They grabbed the engine and lifted it into the car. "Cody, the oldest. Mikaela follows, then Charlie, and lastly me. The kid of the family. One that's always different from the others. They handle their situations together while I, think it's better to be here with you. I'm here with someone that I believe has a higher potential," Josh said as he did the last modifications and walked over to the driver side where he turned on the car. The engine began to reved slowly but then picked up speed and sounded perfectly. "Thank you," Eli said. "No problem. I used to be a mechanic so it's pretty easy," Josh said happily and got out of the car. "Not for that. For believing in me. Never had many friends in my life because of who I was. Now that I've been turned into a werewolf. My life has changed to the point where I can't believe it's real," He said. "Well believe it because I thought it would be a good idea to take you into the woods and try to teach you more control," Josh said with a smile. "We're taking the car," Eli said happily as he jumped into the car. The car is a Dark Crimson 1967 Ford Mustang Topless. Once they left, Nana walked outside with a faint smile and closed the garage.
