Pace's POV
I can't stand to stay awake in math class, it's so frickin boring and I just really like to sleep in class. I was pretty happy to be in this class when I realized Quade was in it but he's always paying attention and answering questions. That's not even fun!
I lay my head down on my arms and close my eyes. This would be a quicker process if I had my earphones on but unfortunately, I left them at home. That's what I get for waking up late and that's what I get for staying up at night watching Big Mouth.
I finally begin to drift off when some long ass nails tap against my desk repeatedly. I open my eyes and lift my head just to see my ugly ass teacher, with a sour look on her face.
"Mister Oliver, this isn't a place to be sleeping," her voice is loud that it wakes me up, completely, "you must sit up and at least, pretend to be paying attention."
"Playing pretend is only for children or people with very high imaginations, and I, Miss, do not have that kind of mind," I respond as I mock her voice.
"Do not be a smart ass around me, young man," she points her index finger right in front of my face, almost touching my forehead.
"So, you want me to be a dumb ass?" I grin up at her.
"Detention!" She shouts in my face.
I pretend to wipe spit off my face and it only makes the situation worse but funnier to me. Everyone else begins to laugh and her face is now red with rage.
She grabs me by arm and drags me out of my seat, and onto my feet. My classmates begin to laugh louder and I hear Quade shout, "see you in lunch, doofus!" She pushes me out of the classroom and shuts the door in my face.
She didn't give me a slip for detention so I head off to wherever my feet take me, and that's of course, Ian's classroom.
Ian's POV
"Put on your goggles!" The professor shouts as he holds a bottle of solution in his hand.
"I think you're supposed to tie your hair too," I whisper over to the girl in front of me.
She looks up and nods, "Thanks I almost forgot to ask what you think."
"Uh . . I was just saying," I say as I look away from her and continue to follow instructions.
"Instead of worrying about my hair, why don't you go check what your friend is doing in the window," she says as she points behind me. I turn around and Pace is waving his hand back and forth, trying to catch my attention. Oh . . my . . God.
"Can I be excused?" I call out to the professor as I slide off my gloves.
"Quickly," he says. I turn around and slide off my lab coat as I keep my eyes on Pace. I hang the coat on the rack and take off my goggles, holding them in my hand.
"What are you doing here?" Our right hands meet in a swift motion before we bump fists.
"I got kicked out of class," he leans against the wall.
A girl walks by us and stares at Pace for a long second until he winks at her and she giggles as she continues to walk away.
"I thought you were scared of love?" I tease him as I swipe my hands down my t shirt to smooth it out.
"I'm not scared of sex, though," he laughs. I join him and then another familiar face appears from a distance.
"What are you dumb asses doing outside?" Elizabeth walks over to us with her hands full of textbooks.
"Most importantly, why do you have so many books?" I ask her as I slide my hands into the pockets of my pants.
"Apparently, I never got them," she tries to shrug but the books begin to slip in her arms.
Pace and I reach out at the same time to take them from her hands. She sighs in relief as she shakes her arm from the heaviness.
"You're still taking Chemistry?" Pace asks as he examines the textbook in his arms.
"Yeah, I didn't pass it last year," she rubs the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"You should go to tutoring," I offer her as I lean against the locker door.
"I don't have time for that shit," she rolls her eyes.
"Neither do we but we don't want to be in summer school," Pace grins at her.
"Again," I interject.
"Exactly," he agrees.
"Okay, maybe I'll think about it," she smiles, "now help me take this to my locker."
"I have to get back to class in a bit, so let's be quick," I inform her. I'm in the science building and the lockers are by the gym area, so it's a walk for me.
She begins to walk in front of us and our horny, teenage selves, can't help but look at her bottom half. I can't believe she's single. With those thick legs and wide hips. If she wasn't my friend, I'd probably give her back shots.
She begins to put in the combination to her lock and it instantly opens up, dropping a napkin from Carl's Jr. Wow, I know my locker isn't the cleanest but . . I don't think I'd keep fast food napkins in there.
"Ugh, he's so annoying!" She groans as she picks up the napkin and slides it in her pocket.
"Who?" Pace, the chismoso, asks as he steps closer to her.
I learned that word last year in Spanish class. It means someone who gossips. The teacher said it's usually used for women 'cause they love to gossip but, us guys, gossip too.
"None of your business," I say when at the same time, Elizabeth says, "Francisco."
"True, he is," Pace nods, "that's why I beat his ass."
"Dude," I glare at him.
"He's not annoying but I did," he shrugs.
"Okay, can we put the books inside your locker now?" I complain.
"Oh shit, yeah, sorry," she says as she steps aside. I slide the books in first before Pace.
"Thank you guys," she smiles at us before pushing our arms.
"A regular girl, would just give a hug," Pace teases her.
"I'm not a regular girl," she winks at him before locking her locker shut and walking away from us.
"I have a feeling she just used us," I tell Pace as we watch her walk away.
"Yeah, but its so worth it to watch her walk away," he says. I turn to him and we both laugh as he walks me back to my class.

Author's Note: oh man, I'm so happy to be writing so often now! I was forgetting how fun it is! xx
Thank you to Saul and Alex for the help of Pace and Ian <3
There's still a lot to see from those two! I just want you guys to get used to the boy's personalities. Also before I forget, I'd like to promote my own story "Why Me?" That story is more about family, friendship and love, as well. You might be able to relate to it a little more. It's about four sisters and their struggles, challenges and adventures in life xoxo
(I never really go back to check typos, so sorry!)
Thank you for reading!
