Beyoncé
"Blue!" I called out as I started preparing breakfast. We had a flight at 1 and I needed to make sure she had all her stuff packed up. Seconds later I heard her running down the stairs.
"Stop running down them damn stairs Blue Ivy!" I scolded her.
"Sorry," She said as she walked into the kitchen with her two duffle bags and her carryon.
"Mama, are you sure it's a good idea? I just don't wanna get my hopes up for it to be crushed," Blue said as she sat at the table.
"Well baba, the only thing we can do right now is hope because we have no real answers," I said kissing her forehead and setting a plate in front of her.
"Eat up babe, we have 45 minutes before we have to leave, are all of your things packed up?" I asked and she nodded while stuffing her mouth with pancakes.
"Mmhm," she mumbled as she chewed. A text came through on my phone and it was from the same number that had called me the night of Blue's party.

2126947829 : Giselle, I need to talk to you.
2126947829: please it's important...it's about our daughter

That's what shocked me. It could only be one of two people. Shawn or Anthony, and I highly doubt it was Anthony after he saw those paternity results. I wiped my hand over my face and sighed. I texted the number back and acted oblivious.

- Who is this? And what daughter are you taking about?
2126947829: damn Bey. It's Shawn. I'm taking about the baby you had in 12th grade.
- I'm sorry. Shawn who?

I needed for him to understand I didn't need him and that he was well forgotten, even if he wasn't.
"Well baba, I think our journey might have been made a bit easier," I said showing her the text messages. She gasped and jumped with excitement.
"But wait. Why'd you pretend you didn't know him?"
"Had to let him know nobody was tripping off of him. Besides it's been almost seventeen years, had to make it seem like I'd forgotten him at least a little bit," I said winking at her before receiving another text.

2126947829: Shawn Carter. Beyonce come on. I know it's been 16 years but you couldn't have forgotten me that easily.
-hm. I think I remember you. But what do you want with my child
2126947829: our child Giselle. I want to know her. I finally found a way to get in touch with you and I want to know my baby girl. Anthony contacted me about 3 weeks ago saying she wasn't his. Why he waited this long, I don't know. But what I do know is That i fucked up bad by not taking the test in the beginning and being there for her. I wanna make it up to her. I really, truly do.
- we have a flight in 30 minutes to JFK. Where are you?
2126947829: that's perfect! I live in Soho now. It's about a 15 minute drive. I'll pick y'all up. Please Beyoncé. I wanna make it right with her.
-okay.

"Well beautiful, seems like your wishes are coming true," I said while kissing Blue's cheek. We grabbed our bags and took them to the car before pulling off to Metro-Detroit airport. We waited for about fifteen minutes before they called for our flight.
"Flight T-934 will be boarding now," they said over the speaker.
"Come on boo," I said as I held her hand while we walked through the group of people.
————————
Blue
"Flight T-934 will be Landing in New York City, New York in 10 minutes. Please fasten your seat belts and stay seated until instructed otherwise," I heard the flight attendant speak over the p.a system. I shook mama and tried to wake her up but she was knocked out.
"Ma. Momma, Beyoncé!" I said louder causing her to jump up.
"Damn Blue, you scared the shit outta me," she said as she sat up and collected her things that were on her lap. Soon we landed and they let us grab our carryon's and deboard the plane. We waited in baggage claim for about fifteen minutes before mama's Lime Green suitcase and my white suit case with my name in gold showed up.
"Thank God we got these bags that stand out," mama mumbled as we grabbed them and walked towards the exit.

Beyoncé
"Blue stay close, I don't want you to get lost," I said grabbing her arm. She was only 5'0 so that made it easy for her to get lost in a big crowd. Once we emerged from the big crowd. I noticed many people holding signs and waiting for family members or friends. I looked around and saw no one that even looked like Shawn. I sighed and started towards the air port car rental area. Well, that was until I heard my name being called.
"Bey! Giselle!" I turned around and was met with the one person I thought I'd never see again. Shawn Carter. Blue looked at him and tears slipped from her eyes.
"Shawn. This is Blue, Blue this is your father," I said as Shawn walked up and picked blue up in his arms. He hugged her tight, kissing the top of her head, while her tears poured out onto his shirt.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry baby girl," he kept whispering as he held her. I wiped my tears that had fallen as they let go.
"You didn't know. It's okay," she said as she kissed his cheek. She than turned to me.
"Mama your phone ringing," she said handing me it. I grabbed it and answered with out even looking.
"Hello?"
"Bey, did you and Blue get there safely?" It was my mama.
"Yes mommy, were actually getting ready to leave the air port. I'll call you a little later okay?"
"Alright sweetheart," she said before hanging up.
"Bey, how are you?" He asked finally looking up at me.
"I-I'm fine. Baba are you ready to leave baby?" I said diverting my attention to Blue. His stare alone was enough to draw me back into his arms. No matter what he would always have this hold over my heart.
"Yeah, I'm a little hungry. Do they have Coney Island here?" She asked Shawn as she wrapped her arms around him and laid on his chest. I sneakily took a picture at this. It was their first Daddy-Daughter moment. He smiled brightly and nodded.
"Yeah but the one's in the hood are the only ones that taste good," he said as we started to walked towards the exit. He led us to his car which turned out to be a 2018 GMC Acadia. He helped Blue into the back seat as I turned to open my door. I was quickly stopped as Shawn Grabbed my hand.
"As much as I don't like you, you know better," he said smirking as he opened my door.
"Thank you Corey," I said dryly before climbing in and he closed the door behind me.
"Stop being mean ma'," Blue said before he hopped in the car.
"Blue Ivy, leave me be. I'm grown," I said raising my eyebrow as she gave a shocked look. She thought her father being here was gone keep her outta trouble.
"Okay," she mumbled.
"Wait! Can I sit in the front?" Blue asked as I rolled my eyes.
"Really Ivy. You wait until everyone is in the car," I sighed out as I opened the door and switched spots with her.the only reason I complied was because I knew she wanted to be as close to Shawn as possible. It was actually kinda cute. My phone went off as I got a notification causing me to look at my phone. It was an Instagram notifications from Blue.
(Let's Pretend thats Jay in the drivers seat)

I smiled and liked the picture before leaning back against the seat and dozing off. My baby was happy, and so was I.
