I was awoke but the aroma of pancakes being cooked. I looked over and saw Jace sound asleep beside me. I walked into the kitchen to see Georgianna and Sawyer making pancakes. He was singing to her and using the spatula as a microphone.

"Good Morning" I say walking over to them.

"Hey, Coffee?" Sawyer asks holding a cup in my direction.

"Did you do something to it?" I ask knowing that he didn't.

"Yeah, just spit in it a little" He jokes. I roll my eyes and take a drink. I made my way over to the sliding glass door that opened to the beach. Sitting on a beach towel looking out towards the lake was Jade.

"What's up with Jade?" I ask. Georgianna walked over to join me.

"She's been out there since before we got up" She answers.

"Its only 8:00am" I say.

"I know" She says.

"Well, I'm going to find out" I say. I hand her my coffee cup and walk out to the beach. Jade had her journal indicating to me that she was writing. That was a passion she and I both shared. "Hey, what's up?" I ask and sit next to her. She closes her journal and looks over at me. Her eyes showed a tint of red.

"Nothing, I-I'm fine" She says.

"Jade, I'm your best friend. I know when you're lying" I say. She sighed and handed her journal to me. I flipped to the page she has been writing on. She had written a poem about a boy. "Is this about...Wren?".

"Well, he's the only single man here, so what do you think?" She asks.

"You like him?" I ask.

"Yes, but so does Casey! I mean, she practically threw herself at him last night. How could he not see that?!" She exclaims.

"Well, that might be true, but you want to know what I saw last night?" I ask.

"What?"

"His face light up when you asked about knee boarding today. I would guess that he's feeling the same way you are" I say.

"Yeah, with casey" She says getting up from the ground walking towards the water. I got up and walked towards her.

"Stop it. You're not letting that girl who has absolutely nothing on you get in the way of you getting what you want" I say.

"She's better than me, Dani" She says.

"She is only if you let her be. Don't let Casey stop you what getting what you want and deserve. Promise me that" I say. She looks at me with a half smile.

"How do you always know what to say?" She asks.

"I was eighteen one too" I say. "Are you going to come eat breakfast?".

"No, I'm going to write some more" She says as we walk back towards the beach towel. I went back inside. Georgianna and Morgan were both sitting at the table, Jace was helping Sawyer finish cooking, and Wren was flying down the stairs carrying a few towels in his hands. He didn't even stop to get any food.

"Sorry, guys. I want to get on the boat before Casey wakes up!" He says hurrying out the glass door. I smile as I see him reach Jade on the beach.

"So, what was wrong with Jade?" Georgianna asks as I sit down at the table with them.

"Well, look like your little sis has her first real crush" I say. She and Morgan both looked outside the glass door at Jade and Wren.

"What!"
