For My Sister

Chapter Fifteen

"Geprgia!" I yell. I ran to the dock. I jumped into the lake. Thankfully, I had a knife in my pocket I always carried. It felt like it took forver for me to cut the rope. I swam to the top and sat her out on the dock. "Help! Help me!". I was hoping Morgan, Jade, or Dani would hear me. Georgianna was unconscious. "Georgia, wake up!". I didn't want too, but I tried mouth to mouth. "Georgia. We aren't losing you too!". I yell again and begin chest compressions. Nobody came outside to help me. Thankfully, a few minutes later, she started cough.

"What...Jace?" She questions. "Why did you do that?".

"No, why the hell did you?" I ask. She sat up and faced me.

"Sawyer and my baby are both dead. I don't have a purpose in this world anymore" She says. I shake my head.

"No. No, G. That is not true at all. You have a place and a purpose in this world. You might not know what it is right now, but you have to beleive when I say I know you were made to do amazing things" I say. She turned and looked at the water.

"It doesn't feel like it" She says.

"You have to trust me. This is not what Sawyer would have wanted. Plus, do you really want to out Morgan and Jade through that? They love you more than you will ever know. Don't hurt them like that" I say.

"Fine. I won't do it" She says. "But, you know you've got a lot of room to talk when you're out here-".

"I know what I did was wrong. I know that. But, I love Danielle, and when she wakes up she's going to know it" I say.

"She hates you" She says.

"That may be true, but she would have hated me a lot more if I let you die" I say. She kind of smiled at that remark.

"Look at you playing the hero" She says.

"Want in on a secret?" I ask.

"What?" She asks.

"I'm keeping my promise" I say. When I showed her what I held in my hand, her mouth hung open.

***Dani's POV***

Morgan, Jade, and I all hung out in Morgan's room. We were letting Georgianna rest. We all must have ended up falling asleep, because at around midnight we were woken up by Jace.

"What's wrong?" Morgan asks. I still didn't want to talk to Jace.

"I just caught Georgia trying to jump off the dock and drown herself" He says. We all jump up.

"What?!" Jade exclaims.

"She's in her bed now, but she can not be left alone anymore" He says.

"I-I'll stay with her tonight" Jade says. Morgan couldn't speak. She was trying to fight back tears.

"I just needed you guys to know. She's not as okay as she says she is. She's going to break sooner or later" He says.

"I-I can't believe her" Morgan says. This time she didn't hold back her emotions. She buried her head in a pillow. I put my hand on her back. "You guys get some rest. I have a feeling that the next couple days are going to be bad". He disappears out the bedroom door.

I stayed with Morgan. She was a mess. I had no idea why she was like this. She was always the one that makes her emotional more than anyone.

"Hey, she's still here" I say wrapping my arms around her from the side. "He saved her".

"If anything happened to her. I-I don't know what I would have done" She says.

"She just needs our love right now, that's it. She's here and she's okay" I say.

"I can't lose my little sister. Either of them" She says.

"You won't. You haven't" I say. She didn't  say a word back. She just cried herself to sleep.

When she was asleep, I snuck downstairs. I wasnt expecting Jace to be awake, but there he was on the couch. I wanted to be mad at him, but so much other stuff was going on that I couldn't be.

"Can we talk?" He asks.

"Jace, not now" I say sitting down on the couch.

"No, I have something to say and you're going to listen" He says. I couldn't even reply back before he started going on again. "Dani, I have loved you since before I knew what love was. I love you today, I love you tomorrow, and I am going to love you for the rest of my life. Now, I did make a stupid mistake that I will never, ever be able to take back, but you forgave Jade, so I'm asking to to forgive me. I made Georgianna a promise a few days ago that I was always intending on doing. I've spoke my piece and now it's up to you". He spills. He pulled a small velvet box out of his pocket and opened it up. In front of me sat a diamond ring. "Yes or No. Come find me when you have an answer".
