AN: I'm sorry for the late update. I just returned from holidays and needed some days to adapt back to the working routine. As a compensation, I'm making this chapter longer. Enjoy!

Erwin's POV

"Come on!" "He's losing too much blood!" "Erwin!" "Is he going to make it?" "Please don't leave me"

I suddenly wake up covered in sweat. I had a very strange dream. All I could hear was (Y/N) screaming and unfocused human figures I couldn't recognize moved erratically.

"Hey, you're finally awake" I move your head to my right. (Y/N) is gently pressing my chest for me to lean back down. I look around. I'm in my room, how strange, I don't remember how I got here. And why is (Y/N) here? "How do you feel?" she asks.

I suddenly feel pain coming from my right shoulder. I try to reach it with my left hand, but I can't. I look at it and then I remember everything. The titan. I clench my teeth. I don't have to speak for (Y/N) to know how I feel. She gets closer to me and gently caresses my cheek.

"I'm sorry Erwin, but you'll be okay" then her voice breaks and I see tears coming out of her eyes "I'm so relieved, I was so worried. I was afraid I'd lose you". I do not know what to say to comfort her and I'm thinking of the right words when suddenly, Mike, Levi and Hanji come inside the room.

"(Y/N), you should really take a bath, you're starting to smell" Mike says as he enters the room.

"He's awake!" Hanji screams and they get closer. "We were very worried"

"You need to shave that beard." That's everything Levi has to say "(Y/N), you're here all the time, why didn't you shave it?"

She stares assuredly at him "I think he looks good. I didn't want to ruin it"

"You know who doesn't look good? YOU" Levi answers "You look filthy"

"And you smell" Mike adds while they both take (Y/N) by her wrists and lead her towards the door.

"Thank you guys, I'm okay. STOP!" she tries to get away but they're stronger. Hanji and I laugh at the scene.

"He will be alright, we will take care of him while you're gone" Mike says condescendingly "NOW CLEAN YOURSELF" they throw her towards the hallway and lock the door. We can all hear her screaming 'You assholes!'

"I'm starting to think (Y/N) is actually your mother" Hanji laughs.

"How long has she been here?" I ask curiously.

"She hasn't left your side since you came here." Mike answers "Not even to go to the bathroom, as you can see" I smile at the response.

(Y/N) POV

That warm bath felt like heaven. I take enough time to clean myself properly but I'm too impatient to go see how Erwin is doing. I put on the first thing I see and walk towards his room.

Before getting inside I hear

"...Hanji shall be my successor" Is he retiring? I hope he is, he can't keep fighting without his right arm. "In case anything happens to me I want you to take care of her while she's still here" I know Erwin is referring to me. But wait, does that mean he wants to remain in the Survey Corps?

"That is insane!" I scream while I enter the room. I walk towards him "You're not retiring? Have you learnt nothing about our last expedition? Did you also hit your head apart from losing your arm?!"

"(Y/N), this is my job and I will continue here, you like it or not" He answers serenely.

"Of course I don't like it! This is suicide!" I don't know what to say. He is behaving like a child.
