Jonas
"Okay Sky, where are you right now?" Jonas asked, breathing in the chilly night air as he stepped out the doors of the apartment building. His worry was starting to get to him as Sky took his time answering his question.
"I'm by the bridge on the north side of town," Sky groaned, sniffing again as Jonas came to stand under a stop sign.
"That's not too far from where I am, we can uh... we can meet up near Strawberry and Oak," Jonas said, nodding to himself as he waited for a car to go by.
"That's where that vendor who sells churros is set up during the day, right?" Sky asked.
"Yeah, that corner. He's probably not out here now but there's a small shop not too far from there, it doesn't close till about thirty minutes, we could stop there and get you some cake or something to make you feel better."
"Mhm."
Biting his bottom lip Jonas looked both ways before jogging across the street. "Sky I need you to talk to me, uh, tell me your favorite sweets."
"Why do you want to know?"
"So when we get to the bakery I'll know what kind of cake to get you."
"Why do you wanna feed me sweets so bad? I feel fat enough already."
"You're not fat, and besides chocolate fixes everything. Or at least that's what my Pops says, I don't really like chocolate unless I'm eating brownies." Jonas smiled to himself as he neared the street corner.
"I'm allergic to chocolate."
Snorting Jonas said, "That must suck."
"Major ass, yeah. It's all good though cause my mom used to always set aside coconut cake just for us every Christmas."
"Coconut cake?" Jonas grimaced, looking up just in time to see Sky rounding the corner and stopping next to the stop sign. Taking his phone down from his ear Jonas shouted, "Are you serious. Dude, coconut cake is disgusting!"
Looking up Sky watched Jonas near him with raised brows and red rimmed eyes. Giving him a wry smile Sky said, "It's not that bad."
"No, your opinion on coconut cake doesn't count because your judgement is clearly clouded and unreliable. I mean you don't know the joys of marble cake," Jonas said, raising a brow at the other before gesturing towards the shop. "Now come on so we can get you a nice vanilla cake with vanilla icing. None of that weird coconut flake stuff."
"If you want me to be happy you'd get me coconut cake." Sky gave another weak smile, waddling into the shop as Jonas held the door open for him.
"Fine, you can get your own little coconut cake but I'm getting myself a brookie." Jonas smirked.
"What the hell is a brookie?"
"Half brownie half cookie. This place makes those."
Looking a bit incredulous Sky nodded, chuckling softly to himself. So the man wasn't lying, Jonas couldn't help but study every move the man made as they looked through the display cases for a cake, it was much to late to have one made. To Sky's dismay they didn't have coconut cake but they did have peanut butter cookies, something Jonas actually liked, and the two decided to share a whole basket together over light conversation. Jonas didn't wanna treat the man like a glass doll but he was still a little worried though he didn't know him all too well he had a feeling that wasn't the first time something like this had happened.
"Schuyler, if you don't mind me asking, what happened? Why were you uh... upset?" Jonas asked, breaking a cookie in half before shoving the piece in his mouth.
