Samantha's POV
*Ring....*
Umidlip lang ako nang may biglang tumunog na phone. Wait. Ringtone ko yun ah.
Kinuha ko ang phone ko sa small pouch ko. It was a call from an unknown number. I signaled Cedrick to excuse myself for a privacy. Nag smile naman siya at nag nod.
I answered the call.
"Hello? Samantha." A baritone voice answered from the other line.
"Speaking. May I know who's calling?" I asked him politely.
Natawa ito. Ang weird.
"Oh I'm sorry Sam. I just recently changed my number. It's Harris." Masayang tugon sa kabilang linya.
"Oh! I thought it was a prank! HAHA. Uhm... Ano nga pala ang iyong ibig na mungkahi at napatawag ka ginoo?" Pangbibiro ko.
"Mukhang nakaligtaan mo ata aking binibini na may pangako akong binitawan sa iyo kanina." He played along. Pasaway talaga. Wait. What promise is he referring to? Napahinto ako sandali at napaisip.
"Hala! Oo! Sorry Harris. Muntik ko nang makalimutan." I said while gently scratching my nape.
"No it's okay. It's still 6:55. I'll just fetch you now." Tumawa naman siya.
"Where can I get you?" I was unconsciously looking at my fingernails.
"Oh I'm still with someone. Magpapaalam muna ako sa kanya. I'll just text you where exactly I am okay?"
"Sure thing. See you mademoiselle." Bulero talaga oh! Haha
Binaba ko na ang phone ko at lumingon sa direksyon ni Cedrick. He's now standing with a girl beside him. Holding his arms lovingly. The girl is quite familiar tho.
Nilapitan ko ito. Nabigla naman ang babae. So it's Shantie pala. Why is she here? Oh what am I talking? Of course they're close friends. Mag on na nga ata. And why am I thinking all of these? It's not that I'm interested in their relationship nu?
I just shrugged all the thoughts out.
"Cedrick, I am very sorry but I need to go. It was Harris who called me. At nagpromise siya sa'kin na lalabas kami tonight." Pag-uumanhin ko. Truth be told, I still want to spend few hours with him.
"It's alright." Matipid niyang tugon but with a smile.
"I really had fun today. Thank you." Masaya kong tugon.
"Me too."
"So I should get going now. Bye. Ingat kayo." Nag-umpisa naman akong maglakad after magpaalam. Kinuha ko naman ang phone ko at tinext ni Harris ang specific location ko.
Tumingin ulet ako sa direksyon nila Cedrick at Shantie. They were exchanging warm smiles. They're a perfect match made from heaven talaga.
It didn't take long for Harris to come and get me.
"Samantha!" Harris called out my name. He was running.
"Oh hi!" Masaya kong tugon while waving my left hand. Well, my other hand was pre-occupied.
"Should I now take hold of this fair lady's hand?" Now friends, that's the end of the story. 'Di joke lang. Here goes his "Dakilang Banat". I chuckled and extended my left hand.
"And where would you possibly take me Mr?" I said in a sarcastic tone.
"Perhaps to the end of the earth." He winked and then chuckled.
