(Y/N)'s POV
Time seemed to be slowing down.
The exact moment Cecilia brought Ash to the cliff, I swear my heart stopped. He looked so weak, so vulnerable. Silently, I wondered, is this what he had felt when I was held by Team Flare? After she had told me about her parents, Cecilia took Ash out of my grasp and lead him here, and when I realized what she was about to do, I froze abrutly and widened my eyes. She wouldn't. She wouldn't. I told myself, though even I didn't believe that.
She handed me a knife and gave me two choices: kill myself and let Cecilia free him, or let Ash die.
I gulped, holding the cold blade tightly. Even if I did kill myself, would Cecilia keep her promise? Can I trust her?
As time passed by, the more Cecilia pushes Ash towards the cliff. Everytime she does, I hold the knife closer to me. From the corner of my eye, I saw my friends by the side, all tied up, watching in horror. They couldn't do anything. I was the one under control. I had to make this decision. A desicion that will change everything. I held the future in my hands, but I was too scared of the consequences, and so I was trapped in the present.
When mine and Ash's eyes met and I saw the fear in his', I felt the guilt stab me again. This was all my fault. He wouldn't be here if it wasn't for me. If I had done something. If I had told them sooner.
"Choose, (Y/N), or I'll kill you both."
No. I wasn't going to listen to her. Just because her parents had died and she had to watch, that doesn't make it our fault. Ash only did it to protect me. It wasn't anybody's fault. I wasn't going to listen to her. That only means I'm letting her win when we did nothing to her.
I held the future in my hands, and I think I can change it with my own desicion.
Keeping my gaze locked onto Cecilia, I caustiously stepped towards Ash and her, knife still in hand, and, as fast as I could, pulled Ash out of her grip. Without wasting a second, I took a deep breath...
The future is in my hands, and I can do anything with it at this moment.
...and pushed her spiraling down the cliff.
