Yei Chan was staring at the handsome face of the so called professor for the past twenty minutes. Her mind felt blank almost empty.
Chan Cheng entered the SID office after admitting the little girl at hospital. Doctor Chang Xingyan, Officer Cong Bo's fiancée was attending to the girl. So, Chan Cheng had nothing to worry. Although Cong Bo is not officially working at SID there seems to treat him as same as he treats to the other officers.
Chan Cheng felt a incredible silent in the office. Mei Chen stood behind Chan Cheng. This was one of the very few times he was asked to do a field job with Chan Cheng. Otherwise, he will be sitting at his desk at the library taking records of some books they recently received. Even Mei Chen felt the incredible silence in the office.
"Why does this place look deserted?" Chan Cheng muttered to himself and hurried towards the inner office looking for Wong Shin.
Wong Shin raised his to the sound of footsteps nearing him. Chan Cheng smiled at the tall figure who was seated cross legs on the sofa.
" Where is... " Wong Shin silenced Chan Cheng showing the universal sign for' be silent ' and pointed to the figure soundly sleeping on a chair. The man was handcuffed to the chair.
Chan Cheng got near to Wong Shin and whispered in his ear.
"Why did you handcuff him to a chair?"
"Well,I am not a trained police officer like you nor had any self defence training. What will happen if he tries to escape? Safety first! So, I handcuffed him." Wong Shin smiled widely at Chan Cheng.
"You are really som..." Chan Cheng didn't have the chance to finish his sentence. An ear piercing scream made his legs run towards the source of the scream.
Chan Cheng saw Mei Chen kneeling on the floor holding an unconscious looking Ye Chan in his arms. Before he could question Mei Chan what happened there Mei Chan volunteered to answer his unasked question.
"When I sat down on my desk I saw Yei Chan standing near the kitchen table. I asked her if she needed help. But she didn't answer. After two more attempts I decided to check on her. When I got near to her I saw her staring into the space. I tapped on her shoulder but there was no reaction. So, I started pulling her to her desk by hand. Then, she suddenly collapsed on to the floor. Luckily, I caught her before her head hit the floor. "
Chan Cheng shaked the unconscious lady a little and checked her breathing.
" Her breathing is normal. "
Chan Cheng shaked Yei Chan with a little more force than before. Yei Chan stirred a little and slowly opened her eyes. When she realised where she is sitting on, she stood immediately and walked into the office.
The surprised two officers looked at each other.
Then there was another ear piercing scream, but this one was high pitched.
Chan Cheng and Mei Chen ran into the office.
There was a tall figure holding Chief Zhang safe in his arms. The man's back was to them but the two immediately recognised the tall figure.
