New Information

I quickly slip into Interstellar publishing building and head straight for my office. I can't shake that sightseeing of Matt and Mr. Poux 'canoodling' in front of the building. I need to find a way to get information on the two without being obvious. I guess I should start with Mr. Poux's secretary, Angela. She would know if Poux is seeing someone but how to get her to reveal this to me. This will be the first time I actually talked to her. But first I need to answer some emails and get my actual work done.

I was about 30 minutes into replying to emails when I hear a knock at my door, I say a firm "Come in" and look up as the door opens and in walks Mr. Poux with a huge grin. "Mr. Lester, I have a great News!" he explained before I even have a chance to greet him. "Mr. Poux Hello, please take a seat." I gestured to the chair in front of my desk. He smiles and sits while I shift uncomfortably in my seat. " So what is this great news, Mr. Poux?" I asked when he finally settles.

"Now I know Mr. Lester you are busy with the West book, however, we are going to be getting a new author really soon!" he says as his grin gets wider. "Really, are they a new up incoming author?" I ask genuinely curious. " They're not exactly new however they will be new to Interstellar publishing" He laughs with excitement. My stomach sinks a little because even though there is excitement in his eyes there is something else. "So what is this new author have to do with you telling me this great news?" I question. "Well if we do end up signing them to our publishing company I would love for you to work with them," he responds smoothly. "Hmm okay, Well do I get to know who this mystery person is?" I ask hoping for a name "Unfortunately no, I have to keep this under wraps for now but if I sign with them you will know for sure." Poux says firmly.

"I just wanted you to know this exciting new information, Mr. Lester. I'll let you get back to your work." He says as he stands up and heads to the door. "thank you, Mr. Poux, for telling me this. It really makes me feel like I'm a part of this team." I put on a big fat convincing smile. "You are apart of this team, A major part! See you later Lester!" He says as he finally leaves. I guess finding out more information on Poux isn't really that difficult. I wait a few minutes to make sure he is officially way from my office before I pull out my phone.

I go to send Dan a text that I have new Information in Poux but realize that it would be easier to call him. I immediately click on his contacts and press call. It only takes one ring for Dan to answer and I smile big knowing that. "Phil is everything all right?" Dan says with a worried tone. "Yes, I am fine. I just have some news. I'm, not interrupting anything, am I?" I smile. I love hearing his voice. "You could never interrupt me, Babe. What's the news?" He asks. "Well, Mr. Poux entered my office today with exciting news." I state. "And what is this news that got him excited?" he questions. "He says he is in the mix of signing a new author to Interstellar Publishing." I finally state waiting to hear his reaction. It takes him a few moments. "Okay, he is signing a new author, why is this so important? Shouldn't that be good news for you?" He asks genuinely confused.

I sigh, of course, he wasn't getting it. "Well, I asked if this new author was new to the scene and he said ' They're not exactly new however they will be new to Interstellar publishing' and the laugh strangely," I state and I hear him let out a breath of air. "Allison" He whispers like he just realized something. "Who is Allison?" I ask. "She is the authors whose chapters got leaked. She threated to leave Howell Publishing because of it." Dan states with a stiff voice. "How much would she leaving affect the publishing department?" I ask trying to understand more. "Phil, this is Allison Trippe." He sighs and I gasp.
