As soon as I walk out of the office to head home I see Dan's car waiting down the street. I do a quick check to make sure I don't see Poux or Matt near me and walk straight to his car. As soon as I get there a door opens and I hope in. "Hey, babe." Dan says with a smile before he leans in and kisses my cheek. I, of course, blush before saying a shy hi back. "This is an unexpected surprise. Normally we met at the coffee shop." I say as I grab his hand to lock our fingers. "Well, today is a little bit more of a serious situation" Dan replies with a grim frown.

I let out a heavy sigh before kissing he cheek and then rest my head on his shoulder. "Any word on Trippe?" I question. "She gave me two weeks to figure it out or she is leaving for good." he sighed. I knew this was really difficult for Dan because Poux is playing with Dan business. The publishing company is one of Dan's favorite departments so for this to be happening is really bringing him down.

"What will happen after the 2 weeks?" I ask even though I kind of know. "She said that she will publicly announce that she is leaving Howell Publishing for good and going to a new publishing firm," he says in a low voice. "Has she told you which one?" I dig further. Dan shifts a little cause me to lift my head and look at him. He slowly turns his head to me and a small frown graces his beautiful face as he looks at me with broken eyes. "Yes, she said that she will be going to Interstellar in two weeks time. Fucking Interstellar!" he huffs out. "Fuck! Poux has to be dirty!" I surmise. Dan raises an eyebrow at my curse then shakes his head. "I actually can't believe this! How fucking pathetic do you have to be to try and take down someone else company because you weren't as successful? Shit!" Dan practically shouts.

"We won't let this happen. I know that two weeks isn't a long time but we can solve this." I say with an encouraging tone. There is no way in hell I am going to let Poux get away with this. "Have you found any evidence on matt releasing those chapters?" I question. Dan shakes his no. "It's like Matt is some amazing hacker or some shit because I literally can't find any source of him in our system," he explains. As he says this I notice we arrived out my apartment, I haven't been here in a good week and a half. I knew Jakey was dying to for bestie time and honestly so was I. However, as I turn to look at Dan he doesn't look like he is going to be staying with me.

"Why are we here and not at your house?" I question and he gives me a small smile. "I know you have been itching to spend time with Jake and Kev." he shrugs. I smile then lean over and kiss his cheek. "I honestly have been. But right now you need me more Dan. We need to solve this!" I state grabbing his hand. "No, I need to solve this. You need to spend time with two people who definitely miss you." Dan counters back at me. He squeezes my hand before kissing it. "Plus, one of my hacker mates is flying in from America, in fact, he should be landing now. We are going to be up all night in the office trying to find how Matt got in my system" he explains.

"Let me go with you! For support!" I beg because I know Dan need someone right now. "Trust me Higgins is amazing at what he does and he is one of my best friends" Dan say and I sigh in defeat and also kinda jealous of this Higgins guy. I squeeze Dans before dropping and go to open the door. "Hey, don't leave like that." Dan says while gently grabbing my chin and turning me to look at him. "You have nothing to worry about okay" he says and the look in his eyes makes me know he means more than just the support issue. I smile gently back. "Okay." I whisper. Dan slowly leans and kisses me before resting our foreheads together. "I want you here enjoying yourself instead of stressing okay. It will keep my mind at peace while I am doing this." he whispers making me feel his breath wash over my face. "Fine, I will go have fun with my friends!" I fake whine causing him to smile. "Good boy!" he whispers causing me to giggle. "Kinky." is all say which make him bark out a laugh before kissing me deeply.
