calum sat down next to elora, thinking, what is he going to tell her when he wakes her up? he didn't want her to be upset, but he also can't lie to her.

he couldn't lie to himself, he was also heartbroken, because he knew that nora was a great person. he knew that nora was elora's life, and without her, she'd never be the same.

"elora, love!" he whispered.

"what happened? OH MY GOD, MY MOTHER! is she okay? did she make it?" she threw at him all of her questions.

he looked down and said, "i'm sorry, elora.."

"she didn't... make it? no, tell me you're lying. you're lying calum, right?" she laughed. "this must be a prank."

he stayed quiet, but elora still looked at him, amusement filling her eyes.

"where is she? this is the part where she jumps out of the room and yells 'surprise' at me."

"elora, i'm so sorry.. she didn't make it.." his only wish was to make her happy, to tell her that she's still alive.

but he couldn't lie to her. even if it broke her.

"no.. my mother!" she screamed, falling down to he ground. "this can't happen. calum, she's the only person who loved me! i cant lose her!"

she screamed, and cried, and calum didn't know what to do. the only thing he did was bend down on the ground and pull her into a hug. she hugged him back and cried into his shoulder.

"this can't be real. i cant lose her. w-what am i going to tell aiden and sara? what am i going to do on my own?"

"i'm so sorry this happened," calum started rubbing her back. "but please don't cry, nora wouldn't want to see you cry. she was a strong fighter, she did her best, and you helped her. you're a great daughter, she'll always love you."

but elora couldn't stop crying.

her mother. the woman she grew up with. the woman who raised her. the woman who saved her from her abusive father. the woman who did everything she could, even when she was so ill and tired, just to pay for her daughter's school.

her only hope. the only person who helped her get through her depression.

her mother.
