Marinette Dupain-Cheng comes into  Adrien's  home.  She looks at him with sadness in her eyes.  She is very upset!  No, distraught is more like it.  Her eyes are red from all the tears.

"Adrien, it is awful!"  Marinette says.

"Marinette, what ever is the matter?"  Adrien says.

"It is my boyfriend."  Marinette says.

"Boyfriend?  What about him?  Is he sick, is he hurt, dead?"  Adrien ask.

"No, he is alive."  Marinette says sadly.

"Then, why are you upset?  Wait, you are crying!  Tell me, what happened?"  Adrien says.

" Well, I though everything was going so well!  We had been together for a long time and then he today he just dumped me!" Marinette says as she continues to sob.

Adrien stands up from his work and gives her a hug.  He smiles and thinks, whoever did this to her does not know what a great girl he is missing in his life right now.  He blushes.

"I thought he loved me, but it turns out I was wrong!  I do not understand.  Did I do something wrong?  Was I not pretty enough for him?"  Marinette says.

"Look, Mari!  Any guy who can not see you are kind, amazing, creative, special, and as pretty as I know you to be, why he is just plain crazy!"  Adrien says as he hands her his hankerchief

"You really think so?"  Marinette says.

"Think so nothing, I know so!  You really are a wonderful girl! " Adrien says.

"Thanks, Adrien!"  Marinette says.  She uses the handkerchief to dry her tears and smiles up at him despite the rough day she just had.

       "Your welcome!" Adrien says.

"I kinda feel better already!  So lets be friends then shall we?"  Marinette says.

"Yes, friends it is then!"  Adrien says.

"Oh, I got to go, but here you can have this back!"  Marinette says as she tries to hand him the item he  gave her.

"No, it is okay, you can keep it!  You may find you need it again later!" Adrien says. He has a feeling this friendship will start off on nice new journey for them all.

Little does he know ,what kind of journey his kind gesture towards the sad girl will begin!  Nor does he find out until much much later!
