Many days later, on Saturday to be exact...
Adrien wakes up this morning in a bad mood. He seems to be rather upset. He does not say a word. Not a single one to Marinette, or to anyone else. He just goes to the kitchen pours himself a glass of orange juice, and fixes some toast. He eats the toast and drinks the liquid in silence. He remains that way most the morning.
Marinette is in a great mood. She can see the sunshine is out. She is glad too since it was a wet one for the last few days in a row. It sure is nice to see that it is finally dry, and warm out for a change. She sees no reason why today should not be a good one. She smiles. She sees Adrien scowl, but does not say a word about it to him.
Instead, Marinette fixes herself a glass of orange juice, some toast with jam, and some scrambled eggs. She burns her hand on the burner as she accidentally knocks the frying pan over when she goes to remove the eggs from it. She whinces in pain soon after she places the food on her plate. She turns the stove off. She sets the pan and spatula in the sink. She sits down at the table. She eats, but as she does feels tears roll down her eyes.
Adrien sees Marinette is hurt. He thinks, great! Why did she have to go and do such a thing like this for anyway? Can she not see how fragile she really is anyway? He scowls even more. He walks over to her and grabs her hand. He takes a closer look at it. He growls in annoyance at her for her behavior. He snaps at her, "Marinette, why did you do such a thing? Why you will get a horrible scar in no time! You know, you really ought to be more careful!"
Marinette looks up at him in surprise. She wonders, what could have taken place to put him such a sour mood.
" I am sorry, I just accidentally got burnt that is all. It is okay, really!" Marinette says. She hopes her small smile will help to lessen the fowl mood she finds him in on this fine, spring day.
"Okay, it is anything, but okay! You got hurt! Marinette, I-I, uh..." Adrien yells at her.
"I promise not to do it again! I will leave!" Marinette says. She jumps up. She does not even finish the last bite of her toast she is so hurt that he would speak to her , so harshly. She runs upstairs and trips. She does not cry. She just stands up and goes to the guestroom.
Once inside the room, Marinette takes a look around her. She sighs. Without another word, she packs her things into the suitcase. She makes sure to include the phone charger and the phone too. She may as well, since the window company has replaced her window by now. She will go home today. She must. She can not bare to let her relationship with Adrien fall apart over such a little thing as her getting in his way. Not anymore. She loves him to much to hurt him.
She finishes, heads down stairs and bumps into something hard. She begins to fall and screams, "Ah!" as she feels herself about to tumble to the ground. She feels a set of strong arms grab her before she hits the floor. She can feel someone breath heavily above her. She dares not look up. She is to much in shock to say another word.
"Marinette, are you alright?" Adrien says. He thinks, it is all my fault. I should never have yelled at her.
"Yeah, just let me go!" Marinette says.
"Wait, I need to talk to you first." Adrien says gently.
"Oh, I do not know about that Adrien." Marinette says. She looks at the floor.
"Come on, please! It will only take a minute, or five at the most!" Adrien says.
"Okay, in that case, sure!" Marinette says.
