Quick warning, I'm really good at making people feel bad for people they hate. Only person I can't do this for is Umbridge... you have been warned.

TRIGGER WARNING: MENTION OF SUICIDE AT THE END

Flash was nervous.

Of course he didn't let anyone else know that; he couldn't let his reputation be diminished after all. Though that might happen anyway after this field trip.

They were going to the main Stark Industries building in New York, where Peter Parker has an internship.

Flash had no doubt that if anyone were to get an internship at Stark Industries in high school that it would be Parker. That's why Flash bullies Peter.

Peter isn't known for lying, he's actually pretty bad at it.

Flash knows that, which is also why he knows there is something more happening than the internship and Peter is trying to downplay it as usual.

Ever since Flash met Peter he's been jealous. The boy is naturally smart, caring, joyful, and all around a good person. If it weren't for Peter's shyness, Flash could see Peter as Spider-Man. In fact, he didn't doubt it.

So when they were welcomed by their tour guide, Flash wasn't surprised when Peter had his own badge.

Flash didn't make one snide comment to Peter Parker or his friends the whole trip. He saw Parker tense every time Flash would raise his hand to ask a question or flinch when he got called on.

Flash could only assume Peter was expecting questions that would 'expose' him. Flash might not be as smart as Peter, but he knows better than to do that. Plus most if not all of the people here wouldn't be working by the time school got let out, so for them to know Peter would be slim.

Flash watched as Peter seemed to be answering questions his friend Ned Leeds was spewing out with more detail than the tour guide seemed to provide. Flash was starting to wish Parker was the one leading the tour. They were getting an abundant amount of information from the tour guide, but Peter seemed to enjoy giving more in-depth answers to Ned as they followed at the back.

Every now and then one of his 'friends' would elbow him muttering, "This is boring, I was expecting more stuff on the avengers, not useless science facts." Flash would then proceed by rolling his eyes and elbowing his friend back before turning his attention back to either what the tour guide was saying or whatever Peter would mutter in addition to Ned.

Lunch was nothing too exciting, as everyone just mindlessly chattered with their own cliques as they ate.

Once the group was back to the front of the building, Flash saw thee Tony Stark pull Peter Parker aside. Flash watched as Tony handed Peter something and Peter thank him profusely, then attempt to make his way back to the class while Tony smiled and walked away.

Flash had had enough of it so he marched right up to Peter.

"I don't get it! I try twice as hard as you and yet everything is just handed to you. You have a loving family, you're smart, kind, and an all around lovable person and I hate it! I would give anything to even have either one of my parents say they're proud of me, or that I've done a good job. I'm just expected to be the best! Yet I'm not. You are. You're always better at everything and it just aggravates me!"

Flash was huffing when he finished. He looked around to see everyone staring at him, so he did the first thing that came to mind. He ran out, hailing a taxi and leaving.

The class never saw Flash after that. It wasn't until Monday where they figured out what happened. Over the loudspeaker the principal asked for a minute of silence for Flash Thompson and if anyone needed or knew of anyone who needed any help with suicidal thoughts to go to their counselor.
