You sigh as you walk down the muggy pavement, the sound of your footsteps splashing onto the concrete, and echoing in the empty space around you.

You cautiously glance at your surroundings for the tenth time that night.

Everything still seemed good.

It was getting a bit chilly as a cool breeze wisps past you, and you pulled your leather jacket closer to your body. You soon decided it was time to put up the attached hood, too.

You shove your bare hands into your pockets to keep them warm. It was only the end of September, and already it was starting to feel like winter.

You let out a breath as you cross the street. You were almost home, to your relief. Only about five more blocks. Sounds far, but before your were even further away. So you were content with the small accomplishment you made.

You were coming back from a party your friend hosted. It was really late at night, and you felt very uncomfortable. You wanted to be in the safety of your home already.

And you were almost there.

You let a smile slip past your lips at the thought of snuggling close to the fire, a cup of hot cocoa in your hands.

A large hand grasped your wrist suddenly, pulling you into a nearby dark alley. You thrashed around and let out a cry for help before the man holding you clamped a hand over your mouth.

"Now look at what we have here," a man wearing purple chuckles. He smirks at you before staring at the other people he had with him. "I brought the entertainment tonight!"

You glared at the man before biting his hand.

Hard.

"Ouch!" He yelped before looking back at you with narrowed eyes.

"I'm not here for your entertainment. Now let go of me," you spat as you tried to pry his filthy hands off of your arm.

"And why would I do that?" The man asked with a sadistic grin. Your heart started to race as the reality of the situation sunk in. Fear coursed through your body, and you trembled.

But you forced yourself to keep your calm.

"Because you don't want to get me mad," you threaten in a low and menacing voice. You were bluffing, of course, but you needed to stall him until you were able to come up with a liable plan.

And screaming was not an option.
You didn't want to get hit, and either way it'd be useless. No one would come to your rescue.

At your forceful words, the man laughed. "Oh I don't?" He smirks. You shake your head slowly. Warningly. "Is that a threat?" He asks with dark narrowed eyes.

"No," you chuckle. "It's a damn promise." You glare at him coldly. Your plan was working, you realized as you watched him laughing at you. It wasn't the fact that he was laughing at you, but that he was distracted.
