She turned her eyes to me and I was unable to sense a smile in her gaze, though there was one on her face. She rested her head on the table as I resumed adding detail to the illustration.

Color streaked from my pens, scattering over the paper in a brilliant array of unique character, adding life to the picture. The bland buildings were made into brilliant storefronts and the girl's hair, hanging over the bridge, was rightly auburn. Color was brought to her cheeks, making her look alive.

Not needing a reference, I colored the girl from memory. She was sitting close enough for me to hear her intake of breath as she was able to see how I imagined her to be inside.

Hair flying, eyes bright yet serious, lips curved up in a half smile, arms crossed loosely over the bridge. I glanced at her from the corner of my eye and she was staring at me with a conflicted look on her face.

I opened my mouth, about to try and say something when her expression changed to one of resolution. Gently, she leaned forward and pressed her lips to mine. I started but put my hand on her shoulder before she pulled away and gave me a little smile. I smiled back, fearing the feeling in my heart.
