"Careless in our summer clothes, splashing around in the muck and the mire."
Hang Me Up To Dry - Cold War Kids"You did that multiple times?" I asked, my brows shooting up.
"Yeah. Every summer up until I was like 16. I moved out by then and then I just did whatever I wanted." He laughed. I was still stuck on his whole summer camp situation.
"You moved out at 16? Your mom let you?" I was confused, I knew him and Anne had such a close relationship I couldn't see why she would let her child move out at such a young age. My father would never be so chill about something like that.
"Yeah. She wasn't too happy about it but, it is what it is." He spoke and then smiled at me. "Speaking of mum, she'd like you over for dinner soon. Told me to tell you."
I felt my cheeks turn pink. "Really?" I smiled. His mom was the sweetest. I wonder what she thought about our little situationship? I'm not even sure what to call it to be honest. We aren't officially dating but we're on a whole vacation together right now?
"Really. See, I'm not the only one that's been dying to see you." He smiled and wrapped his arms around me. My back was against the small counter of the cabin and his arms were rested on it around me.
"Oh please. I doubt she's dying to see me." I laugh. "Tell me more about living on your own. You know it's my dream." For some reason I just couldn't get his childhood out of my mind. I had so many questions, all of which seemed too personal to ask but something just compelled me to keep going.
"Well," He starts and he nuzzles his face into my neck, his arms still wrapped around me. "It's pretty nice... No one gets to boss me around. I get to invite a certain little Ruby over for sleepovers... and we get all the privacy we need." He whispered before placing a kiss on my neck. Feeling his warm breath sent shivers right through me. I watched as he bent down next to the backpack placed by the front door of the cabin. He went back and forth between the backpack and the cases of water and set some bottles in the pocket.
"Yeah that does sound really nice." I whispered back.
"Move in with me." He leaned back and looked at me. Excuse me? I laughed.
"What?"
"Move in with me, pickle. Are your ears working?" He tilts his head and smiles.
"Is your head working? Is it too hot in here? Do you need some water?" I asked hold a hand up to his forehead. He only smiles harder.
"Ruby, think of how much fun we could have."
"Harry, just because you convinced me to go on vacation doesn't mean you can convince me to do that!" I laughed. I'm still not even convinced he's being serious.
"I know you want to move out, just move in with me. Less hassle." He laughs. "Come on."
"Harry. I've never lived on my own before, what makes you think I want to move out of a house with three men just to move into one with another?" I joked with him. Although a part of me was being serious. Do I want to live with him? Would I even want a roommate in general? Probably not. All I ever thought about before was being on my own and how nice that would be. But now it does seem like fun being with Harry. I haven't known him for very long, but he's made me feel so much excitement in such a short amount of time I think I might move across the world with him if he did enough convincing. He's turned things complicated, not that my life before him wasn't already but now in such a different way.
