July 9, 2002, ace's 13th birthday.

"Happy birthday ace! You've grown to fast baby!" mom said, im already thirteen and im still thinking about what happened yesterday.. About yesterday i saw dad and mom in the car and looks like somethings wrong.. are they fighting again? i heard dad has a girl.. but i dont know.. my mind is so crazy right now.

Yesterday July 8,2002 Friday night

Mom and dad went out for a while to buy some food for my birthday tomorrow.. i invited some of my friends from school and neighbors.

*beep beep*

Mom and dad is here, its been 10 minutes since they arrived they havent go down the car yet. Hmm.. i went to the living room and peak.. i think they're shouting to eachother.. is there something wrong? Did dad made mom cry again? Dad promised he wont do it again. Im so sad because tomorrow is my birthday.

Our Family is well known in the city of Davao.. my dad is a mayor and my mom is a housewife. And i am they're only child. Ace V. Mendoza.

I saw my mom cooking sad..
"Mom.."
"Yes dear?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yes honey.."
"What happened to dad? Why is he not here??"
"Well, you see.. your dad needs some rest.. okay?? Now go eat na ok, after you can play with your friends."
"Okay mom" i know mom is hiding something to me..

I just wish dad was here..

2 pm JULY 9, 2002

"ACE!!!"
"Dad!!!!!" I was so happy dad came in my birthday!
"I thought you wont come.."
"Oh cmon why would i wont come to my handsome son's birthday! Happy Birthday son i brought you something here open it." I opened my dad's gift to me i was so thankful when i saw a whole collage of pics of me since i was a baby. I loved it.. and one more thing theres a PSP woa!! I cant wait to play it!!! "THANK YOU SO MUCH DAD!!!!" I hugged my dad and told him i love him so much.

"Uhmm sweetie?" Mom is calling me.. i saw mom holding another present for me! I cant wait! I opened it and i saw a necklace that has our family picture.. I really love It! Memories are the best. "Thank you mom!" Im so thankful for my parents.. even they have a tough time with eachother.. they still made me really really happy on my birthday!

I played my PSP with my friends.. for a while. Its already 6 pm all of my friends got home already but me im still playing PSP. While i was playing i heard a really loud gun shot from our neighborhood. My dad told our bodyguards to check it.. meanwhile we heard alot of gun shots again.. until i peaked on the window and saw pur bodyguards got shot. I was so scared that time.. i dont know what to do but to panic.. i tried to stay calm. Meanwhile the gunshots are gone. Alot of polices came in our town there was alot of dead bodies.. Poor them they we're so innocent.

July 10,2002 8:15 am

"Good morning honey"
"Morning mom"
"Have some cereal"
"Uhmm, mom about what happened last nig--" i didnt completely said what i was gonna say because mom cutted it "Sweetie dont think of it, lets say na its just a Nightmare okay?"
"Okay mom."

July 10,2002 2pm

* A plate fell *

"Mom? What happ--" my mouth suddenly stopped when i saw my mom on the floor full of blood.
"HELP! PLEASE! HELP!!!! HELP!!" I keeped on shouting Help but no-one hears it. I was abour to go outside to call the bodyguards and i saw them dead too.
I called my dad and he's not picking up. Until the news came and said "Davao's Mayor Dave R. Mendoza Dead on arrival at the aiport." I was so shocked.. how?? Later the police's came here and my aunt demi.. i was crying and crying until i slept.. i didnt know this will all happen after the day of my birthday...
