Where am I?
What's happening?
Is anyone there?
Hello?
It's so lonely here...

I blinked and suddenly I could feel a physical hard surface, the floor. I felt different...somehow...
I lifted myself off the ground and looked up at a huge glowing white figure.
Diamond.
She was looking down on me now, her smile was off...it didn't match her....new appearance. No longer did her form shine with multiple colors. It was as if all the life had drained from her. I turned to see gems next to me. I exchanged uncertain glances with a few of them. They, too, had no idea what had become of their home. We seemed to be standing in what I could only assume was the ballroom. It felt so empty, even with all the gems inside it. The walls, once decorated with colorful tiles and murals were now nothing more than a blank canvas. The lighting above us only shown a beam of white light. It's as if some gem had erased every source of color drained the emotions with it. I looked back at Diamond as she was about to speak. The others did the same.
My dearest gems! I am so glad that you all are safe and sound! I just simply made a few renovations while you were out, nothing too dramatic!!" Her voice echoed through my head. It didn't sound right; if I were, to be honest, nothing felt right, her voice was unnatural, forced even... The gems next to me looked nervous as well, sounds of feet shuffling and soft murmurs filled the silence. Diamond looked down again, this time scanning the room, looking at each and every gem. The smile crept across her face again, this time her hand raises over her lip, as to show she was thinking.
"Umm...This will not do! You all will need to be altered as well! I can't leave my precious gems looking like this! Such a pitiful sight! Not to worry, I have already made plans for your reformations!" She explained, her voice becoming louder now. The room dropped to complete silence. I replayed her words in my head. Did she say "reformation?" I looked again to see one of her hands stretched out as a been of light flooded over me. I felt my form begin to break and retreat back to my gem.
"Oh, don't worry it would hurt one bit."

"Reformation of Coral Facet-0A6A Cut-2AB is complete my Diamond, Her status has been archived, all is left is for her to perform her duties. I believe my service to complete at the moment."
"Thank you Pearl, I'm sure she will."

"Please...I don't know what I did, but whatever it is I could fix it! Just give me a cha-" I cut off her speech, bringing my scythe over her neck, shattering her gem. I watched her form flicker away, leaving nothing but the sounds of broken gem shards falling to the ground. I let my weapon vanish and bent down, my fingers slowly picking the pieces up. She was gone, the gem. She truly was gone, and I was the cause of her disappearance.
I didn't know what to feel. This was the first time I've witnessed the shattering of a gem, a shattering I was responsible for. I stood up once more, a smile slide across my face. I felt...powerful. I could control the lives of gems. I was amazed by my new found power. This was going to be fun.

Important Author's Note Interruption: "Present-Day Events" happen before Diamonds Days, Heart of the Crystal Gems or A Single Pale Rose. (I'm listing all of this so that you people know that I am perfectly aware of Steven's Trip to homeworld as Pink Diamond's son..)
{Present-Day}
{Steven's POV}
There was something Pearl wasn't telling me. Something about Pink Diamond... She knew something about the shattering-no she was part of the shattering. After visiting Lapis on the moon, I felt uneasy around Pearl. To make things a whole lot worse, I was in her room... I had sneaked in a while ago when she left her door open... I needed to find something.... Anything to serve as evidence. I wasn't entirely sure what it was that I was looking for, in fact, I didn't really have a plan... I was going to wing it...or go with the flow... Oh boy, I'm really nervous about this... If Pearl catches me, I'm in some serious trouble... I took off my sandals as I swam up to her tallest fountain. Oh Jeez, my clothes are all wet now... I should have at least brought my swim trunks with me... I pulled myself to the top of the fountain and stood there for a moment. Pacing around, I spotted a pale white bubble with a small metal machine. I took it into my arms to examine. The bubble was..new-since Pearl hasn't organized it yet. I accidentally squeezed the bubble a bit too tightly popping it. Pearl's going to kill me now for sure. My hands reached out to re-bubble it.
"Greetings. You will know me as Coral A09: Original Prototype, underwent several modifications, previously serving under the command of White Diamond. I am at your command now, I am loyal to serve and provide you with information. I only request that you watch after my gemstone for it quite fragile with age and remember, never lose track of the time."
What...did it just speak? I picked it up and turned it over, a red gem laid on the surface of the machine. White Diamond? Was she...the fourth Diamond? I was confused. I had never heard of a white diamond. How come Pearl never told me about this? Suddenly an idea sparked into my head, and before I knew it, I had pulled the gem out.
