Steven and Maryanne Universe aren't like any other kids their ages- they're half human, half gem kids who are the members of The crystal Gems, a group of a alien race that fought against their homeworld to protect the earth, the rebellion was leaded by Steven's mother Rose Quartz. Now only three remain, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl, including Steven Universe and Maryanne. The two kids must learn how to use their powers to protect the planet earth in their own ways, along with meeting new challenges, friends and uncover secrets that were hidden in the dust, whether gem related or human related... Steven Universe, on a mission with the Crystal Gems, finds a large black gemstone with wave like patterns in the colors of fire. He shows it to the gems, who've surprisingly 'never' seen such a gem before, and with a bit of convincing, allow him to take it home. When Steven awoke to get a midnight snack, the gem reformed and appeared in his kitchen. Who was this? Why havn't the gem's heard of him before? Why did he feel such a pull to him? What does he know?
