The next morning when I went to get my routine cup of coffee Lena stopped me.
"Stef can I talk to you?" She had a serious expression, one that told me what she would say wouldn't be good.
Jude piped up and interrupted, "Is it about Callie? Is she okay?" He instantly became paniced for his sister.
Jesus patted his back, they had a close bond.
"No Jude, Callie's doing just fine." Lena smiled. I saw Jude's body relax, and he continued eating his breakfeast.
I followed Lena into the living room, she rubbed her hands together.
"What is it? Is everything okay?" I pressed.
"Callie's doctor called." She paused, "He said that he wants a follow up, to check how she's doing...down...there..." She trailed off.
"What? Why?" I whispered loudly. Callie can't be put through something like that. She'll freak out.
"He said it's essential. Because she was so violently raped and he did it more than once in a short amount of time... He said he wants to make sure everything's working properly, that nothing's damaged." I felt my heart crumble. The thought of what Liam did to her shattered my heart to pieces, but to hear someone say it outloud made it even worse.
"When does she have to go?" My voice caught.
"Today, at nine." She said.
"Lena I don't want to see her go through that." I pleaded. I know it's going to hurt every bit of Callie to go through this examination.
Lena looked at me sympatheticly, "I know Stef. But you're the only person she'll want to go through it with." She brought me in for a hug and kissed me quick.
"Alright kids, let's go let's go!" She said as she made her way back to kitchen. I watched them all scramble to get their bags and clean the table. In a few moments they were all out the door.
I looked at the clock. 7:45. I had to get Callie ready.

I told Callie about her appointment on the way there. She didn't say a word. I didn't tell her how bad it was, I didn't want to scare her. I wanted the doctor to be able to explain it in a better way than I can.
When we got there we say in the waiting room. I watched callie, her hands were trembling. I placed my hand on top of hers, and she took it and squeezed it. She didn't let go until the doctor called us in, then she gripped my arm as I helped her follow him.
The doctor's a male. Every part of this was getting worse. I felt like a failure for not protecting my baby.
I helped Callie up onto the patient bed and sat in on the bench provided.
"So Callie, I heard you had quite the week." He said, looking at her beaten face and arms.
She didn't say anything. I didn't like the doctor already, he said that to her with hunor in his tone, like it was a cheerful week for her.
"Not much of a talker huh?" He pressed, pulling a stool up and sitting next to her. I noticed Callie was shaking, and she was blinking back tears.
"Doc, please. Just make this as quick as you can." I told him. He nodded and tossed a gown at Callie for her to change into. It landed on her lap.
"I'll help you into that, then we'll get this show on the road." He stood up, getting ready to pull Callie down off the bed.
Callie began to shake more. I stood up and pushed past him, picking up the gown, "It's fine. I'll do it." I snapped, motioning for him to leave.
