"Sir, could u pls stop trying 2 go off on ur own?" Lucas's PA whined 4 d 1 trillionth time.
"I wonder when I got a babysitter" Lucas Oden of Oden Corps sighed, twirling in his rotatable seat.
"Do you know how hard it's been for me these days? Do you..." Lease couldn't finish his sentence as he was shot a glare.
"Have I been taking it easy on you these days?" Lucas raised his eyebrow at his over worried PA.
"No Sir" Lease lowered his head.
"Get out" Lucas waved him out of his office. "I can't wait for Christmas vaca, I finally get 2 travel" he let's out a satisfied sigh and leans against the seat on his crossed arms behind his head.
The sound of a knock comes at the door.
"Come in" he straightens himself up at his desk.
A slim woman walks in. It's his secretary.
"Managing Director, Sir. The Chairman would like to see you"
"Okay"
After the woman leaves he stands up to leave too.
"Hmm, Chairman, looking sharp as always " Lucas gives, the white bearded man that does not look anything his age sitting behind a desk, a sleazy smile as he takes a seat himself at the table in th middle of the huge office.
"I can't argue with the truth now, can I? " Oden Lucious laughs heartily as he walks to take a seat with his son.
"How are the arrangements for the estate plans going?" Lucia us doesn't hesitate to ask.
"C'mon, Chairman. You should know I'd have it under control. You don't find this kind of brain anywhere" Lucas say pointing at his head.
"Aren't you full of your self?" Lucious can't help but shake his head at his son. "Come home tonight. It's your mom's birthday" the room suddenly falls silent.
"Of course. I wouldn't miss it" Lucas stands to leave. "I'll leave you to whatever it is you were doing" he turns around but is stopped in his tracks by his father's words.
"It'll be the last time. We should let things go now" he says without looking up.
Lucas jut walks out.

"What happened to you?" Lease asks in an amazed tone as Lucas walks into his office looking pale. Almost immediately his eyes fall on the small calender placed on the table. An "oh" escapes his lips. ' I'm supposed to be a PA but I keep forgetting this day' he thinks to himself. "You okay Sir?"
" why wouldn't I be?. You can get off work now. I'll go home on my own" Lucas says indifferently and Lease can't seem to argue with that.
"Yes Sir"

Lucas drives up to a flower shop on his way and as he's about to reach his hand to the door, it pushes open and a woman walks past him holding lilies.  'She must've bought some flowers too' he thinks and walks in in a second. He walks up to the woman at the counter and she welcomes him with a smile. "How have you been?" he asks.
"I don't recall us being close enough to care about such things" she teases him while picking some lilies.
"Okay then, grouchy as always I see" Lucas nods while raising his eyebrows.
"Watch it, or I'm really going to throw you out" she shoots him a warning glare and goes back to tying up the lilies she picked, arranging g them into a bouquet. Lucas just laughs lightly.
"Here" she hands him the flowers while waving him off. "Now, get out of here. You know how to ruin a woman's mood"
Lucas takes his wallet out a takes out some cash, dripping it on her counter. "I know you mean the opposite of that" he winks at her and she makes a disgusted look which only makes him laugh the more. "Thanks for the flowers" he says walking out.

At Lucious's place
Lucas and Lucious are out on the deck holding wine glasses as they are through with their little annual celebration.
"It's her death anniversary today too" Lucas's deep voice is the only thing heard through the cold and thick air.
"I'm aware Lucas. I've always been aware" Lucious tells him.
"Why do you never say it?"
Lucious pauses. And after some seconds he speaks. "Because I don't like to remember it?" Another pause. "Celebrating a death anniversary reminds you of the death. But if it's a birthday..." he turns to look at Lucas. "..it feels like she's still here" *pause* "But you know what Lucas?..." he says still looking at him. " she's not here. Not last year, not 2day. Not ever again...so we should stop now. It's been 22years already." He looks down at his wine glass. "Okay?"
"Okay"
