***Avery's POV***
"Since its the weekend tomorrow, maybe you should stay over to my place so we can buy a ticket" Cole tells me over the phone.
"You can do that online, yourself. Why bother me" I whine.
"Ok, so it's set then. I'll be expecting you" She tells me and hangs up.
"Typical Cole" I throws my phone on the bed.
"Avery!! Would get your butt in here? I'm dieing of hunger" a shout comes from the little living room (a.k.a also dining area) we own and you'd think my eyes would have popped out with the way I rolled them. I storm out of my room and into the living room.
"Did your respect go down the drain or something" I say to the little twerp sitting at a table by the end corner of our living room.
"Yh, it did. Along with your looks and temper" he talks back at me and I'm about to lose it.
"You little..." I raise my hand but it stops in mid air when the voice of the third party reaches my ear.
"Some grownups I have as kids in this house" the aged man also sitting at the table says sarcastically before picking up his spoon and digging into the food.
I bring my hands down and take my seat while glaring at the rude twerp I have as a little brother.
"You're soooo, lucky dad's here right now or I would av purmerised you." I say low enough for only Jude to hear.
"Would you stop whispering in my ear and eat?" He waves my close face off and totally casting me.
I am so pissed off right now. But my dad's here so I put up with it...only until after dinner.
"What's your problem this time?" I say to Jude while he's doing the dishes.
(He takes care of the dishes, I take care of laundry. ...Since my mom's not here and all...)
"Leave alone will'ya" he tries to shake me off. But I know him, I know that something must've made him prickly today.
I take a seat behind him as I'm convinced there's a problem.
"Spill"
After what seemed like a minute, he finally talks.
"I didn't get in" he says while still doing the dishes, which I must say is taking awfully long.
I pause. And just like that he's cleaning the last dish and turns around to storm into his room but before I can stop him, he stops on his own in front of our dad who I didn't know was standing there. He ignores dad and walks past him and into his room.
Dad looks at me and signals me to just let him be for now and I nod.
I go into my room and lay on my bed facing the ceiling.
"I'm not the only one having it tough" I say to myself and naturally the soft breeze coming in from my slightly open windows brush against my skin and before I know it, I'm drifting into a sound sleep.
