"Sup bro?" I said walking over to my mate James, it was lunchtime.
"Nothin' much, you?"
"Nothin"
I sat down at the lunch table where James was, and took out my sandwich. I ate silently waiting for him to say something, it had been ages since we had hung out and I expected him to at least continue the conversation. I looked at him closely, studying his face suddenly realising that something had to be bothering him, the corners of his mouth were turned down, and he had a slight frown. He sat there in a trance, completely immersed in his thoughts.
"What is it?" I said flat out, snapping him out of his trance. He shook his head sighing, "It's nothing, don't worry about it." That made me frown, now I knew something HAD to be wrong. I grabbed him and forced him to look me in the eyes, "Tell me", I demanded.
"Really, it's nothing." He said averting his eyes. I grabbed his shoulders and shook him until he had enough, "Fine, FINE!" I smiled knowing I had won.
"It's just, I don't know, nothing seems to be going right for me lately. First Jenny, then I failed my science test, and I got in an argument with my Mum and she sent me to my Dads and he doesn't pay any attention to me, just sits in his office and works all day, doesn't even make me dinner." He brushed his hair back behind his ear and I noticed just how tired he looked, he had dark circles under his eyes and you could see pimples starting to poke out from his forehead. "I got fired from my job yesterday." He confessed. I gasped, he loved that job it was his life, "What? How!?"
"I've been so tired doing all this stuff at my Dads that I overslept and came to work 30 minutes late. I tried to explain but they weren't very sympathetic." He put his head in his hands, "I just don't know Justin, I'm just sick of this."
I put my hand on his back, "Look mate, I think you just really need to relax and have a night off. You know, Trish's still having that party on Saturday, why don't we both go?" I nudged him, "Come on, I think we both really need a break."
He lifted his head and I could see conflicting emotions flash across his face, fear, excitement, and anxiety. He shook his head, "You know what, I've got nothing to lose let's go."
I grinned, "I'll meet you there at 7." I got up and left the table thinking of ways to cheer him up at the party.

Everything had been pretty boring. I had nothing on and had been missed some school cause I was sick meaning that I was bogged down with homework. I was in the middle of English, everyone was completely bored, I swear even the teacher was almost asleep. We were meant to be working on our assignment but I was done. I had always been pretty good at English, I always found it pretty easy. I took out my phone deciding to text James.
Me: Kill me now.
Him: What's going on?
Me: I'm about to die of boredom in English, please put me out of my misery.
Him: Okay, I will like the good friend I am, do you want a nice and quick death, or long but painless?
Me: *thinking deeply*
Him: Woah, don't hurt yourself.
Me: I'll go for a quick death.
Him: I would've gone for long but painless.
Me: Yeah, but long and painless could just mean living the rest of your life until you die, quick means that you're gone practically immediately.
Him: This convo just got weird.
Me: *conversation
Him: What?
Me: It's spelt conversation not convo.
