Chapter 6 -
Rachel's POV-
"Bye then, see you soon!" I shouted as I ran to the front door. I fumbled for my keys and entered the house as quickly as I possibly could without glancing back at the van. I shut the door and rested my back against it, letting out a deep sigh.
What the fuck was wrong with me?
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a carton of orange juice from the fridge before heading upstairs.
"Hi sweetie," my mum called out from my parents bedroom.
"Hey," I replied.
"You smell like fucking cancer sticks and booze," my dad spat as I walked past his study. "When are you going to get a grip Rachel?"
I rolled my eyes and entered my bedroom, letting the door shut behind me and ignoring him.
I removed the straps of my silky dress and let it drop to the floor before pulling off my boots and fishnets. I scrubbed off my makeup and changed into a pair of tartan pyjama bottoms and a grey 'the cribs' hoodie, before sitting down at my desk and opening my laptop. Before I could stop myself I was googling The 1975.
I flicked through a couple of gig posters from local venues, bad quality YouTube videos of them performing and some pretty moody looking headshots of the boys. After clicking and clicking I finally ended up on Matty's Facebook. I scrolled through picture after picture, smiling at the ones of him and his mum, laughing at the ones of him at a school battle of the bands competition and even feeling a little envious of the ones of him with his arms wrapped around a pretty blonde.
'Enough,' I muttered, shutting my laptop and standing up.
I walked over to my bed and grabbed my phone, re-reading my last message to Alex."on my way home, let me know how tonight goes, ok? Love you x"
He hadn't replied.
Sighing, I slumped down onto my bed and eventually fell asleep, thoughts of what would have happened if I didn't get out of the van so quickly rushing through my head.
