Alec:  Are you guys close?

Malia: Maybe...

Alec: Don't mess with me little luna.  I will come find you if I need to

Malia blushed at Alec's most recent message.  They had been texting pretty much non-stop since she got back to work after their lunch two days ago.  Mainly their conversations consisted of asking how each other's days went or getting to know more about each other.  But occasionally there would be some slightly inappropriate messages being sent through, not that she minded at all.

Alec was one of the most beautiful men that she had ever had the chance to meet, and he seemed like a truly great guy.  She knew from their messages how much he cared for his family and how seriously he took his work and the protection of the woods in this area.  She also knew that he had a secret sweet tooth for chocolate ice cream and that he was not shy about threatening her backside if she made too snarky of a comment.

That last little piece of knowledge constantly caused her cheeks to flame and made her thankful that they were only conversing over text so he couldn't see her face.

Malia: Jenna says we are less than 5 minutes out.  I'll see you soon big boy ;)

Alec: I am counting down the seconds little luna

Malia locked her phone with a sigh and a huge smile.

"You two are going to make me puke, you know that right?" Jenna said from her side of the car.  She only partially hid her smile at her friend's blossoming love life.

"You are one to talk!" Malia fired back, "You and Jackson have been practically in separable since we met them at the club"

"Yeah... well... shut up" Jenna blushed, she actually blushed.  Malia didn't know where her care free, see which bed the wind blows her in tonight friend went, but she was seriously liking the change.  Jenna seemed truly smitten with Jackson and Malia couldn't have been happier for her.  "Look, I need to warn you about these barbecues.  There are going to be a ton of people here and it can get a little overwhelming.  You don't have to worry about any creep-o groping you or anything just know that it's not some small little get together that you are used to ok?"

Malia laughed, "I'm sure I can handle myself. I have been to a party before" Jenna gave her a look, but didn't add anything else.  Truth be told Malia had mixed feelings about today.  She was beyond excited to get to see Alec and spend more time with him, but she also knew that all of his family would be there today and she wanted to make the right impression.   Sure they weren't dating or anything, but that didn't mean that she didn't have hopes that it could lead to there and if it did she didn't want his family to hate her.

She played with the frayed hem of her shorts as they bounced down the road to the "compound" that Alec said he lived at.  She wasn't sure how to take the fact that he lived in some huge house that had a bunch of other people living in it, it seemed odd.

"We're here" Jenna's words brought Malia out of her thoughts. The sight that her eyes landed on took her breath away.  Not only were they out in the woods and parked in some dirt lot, but there were a crap-ton of people around.  Apparently Jenna wasn't kidding about that.  The girls grabbed their bags of extra clothes and started heading toward the smell of the food.  As they kept walking down a path a humongous building came into view.  It was a beautiful wood cabin with great big windows, it seemed to look out over the field where everyone was hanging out.   She would bet her entire paycheck that it also had a series of windows around the back that looked over the lake that she saw on their drive up.
