Good Girl Chapter Five:
After school the next day I met Michael over by his car. We road to Calum's house and went inside.
"Hey guys!" Ashton called from the kitchen. Michael waved as we entered the living room.
"Well, see you guys later!" Luke said as he and Ash walked towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Michael asked.
"Ash broke another drum so were going to get another one." Luke laughed elbowing Ashton. I giggled as they left.
"Ok let's get to work!" I smiled. "Did you have the song?" I asked.
"Yeah hold on." Michael replied digging around in his bag. "Oh shit." Michael huffed.
"What?" I asked.
"Don't hate me but I left the song at home." He said.
"Michael!" I exclaimed.
"Don't worry. I'll go get it! You stay here I'll be back in ten!" Michael said rushing out the door.
I was alone in someone's house that I didn't even know. I felt very awkward. So I did what any normal person would do in a situation like this. I looked around. I looked around the living room at pictures, books, everything. Then I went upstairs to investigate. I turned my head into the room Calum had been in the first time I came here. Signing that song. I saw his guitar. I stepped inside the room and looked around. Inside the room were piles of paper with songs written on them. Green Day and Blink 182 posters covered the walls. Tank tops and t-shirts were piled up on the king size bed. I picked up one of the papers. It was that song.
She sleeps alone,
My heart wants to come home
I wish I was, I wish I was
Beside you
She lies awake,
I’m trying to find the words to say
I wish I was, I wish I was
Beside you
I read the lyrics quietly to myself. It was a beautiful song. Just then I heard a sound coming from the doorway of the bedroom. I turned to see Calum standing there, watching me. He was wearing jeans, vans, and a tank top that showed of his arm muscles and tattoos."Oh. Hi. I was just- I- um.." I mumbled awkwardly. "This song is amazing." I said holding up Beside You.
"Thanks." He smiled entering the room.
"When did you write it?" I asked.
"A while ago." he replied. Calum was a man of very few words. He did seem extremely shy.
"I saw you playing it the other day. It sounds great. Your voice is amazing." I smiled.
"I saw you watching me." he smirked. "Your eyes are amazing." he said causing me to blush.
"Thank you.." I smiled.
"I can't tell if they are blue or green. Its like they are a mix of the two. They're great." he said stepping closer to me. He got about three inches away from my face and stared into my eyes. He had beautiful eyes. So dark and mysterious. He got a little closer which didn't seem possbile. Our lips were inches away from each other. I felt weird. Calum looked at my lips. This isn't okay, I don't even know him. I thought as Calum moved a little closer. Just then I heard the front door open. Michael is back.
"That's Michael. I need to go work on my project." I said pushing away. Calum pulled me back. He smriked still staring into my eyes.
"Calum... I really need to go.." I mumbled. He backed up and smirked. I just stood there staring at him. He nodded towards the door. "Oh.. Right." I said as I walked back to the livivng room.
"Did you get the song?" I asked sitting next to Michael on the couch.
"Yeah.. But before you read it, its not that good and its not done. Don't get your hopes up is what I'm saying." he said handing me a piece of paper.
I read the lyrics out loud:
Six weeks since I’ve been away
And now you’re saying everything has changed
And I’m afraid that I might be losing you
And every night that we spend alone
It kills me thinking of you on your own
"Michael this is great!" I exclaimed.
"Really? I thought it sucked." Michael blused.
"No! Its great! You have a real gift!" I smiled.
We stayed up a while trying to finish the song. At 7:00 Michael brought me home.
"See ya tomorrow!" I smiled. Michael smiled back as he drove away. I opened the door to my house to see my parents and Lily sitting at the table eating dinner. They didn't even wait for me... wow...
"I'm home." I called from the door. They ignored me as usual. I walked into the kitchen, threw my bag onto the floor, and fixed myself a plate. "I said I'm home!" I repeated.
"We are trying to talk to Lily about her classes, so please just eat your dinner Eleanor." my mother said not even looking up at me.
"MY NAME IS NOT ELEANOR!!!" I screamed. They stared at me.
"Young lady who do you think you're talking to?" my father raised his voice.
"Obivously someone who doesn't give a shit about me at all!" I cried.
"Watch your language!" my mother snapped.
"Go to your room!" my dad yelled.
"FINE!" I said throwing my plate to the ground and watching it smash to pieces. I ran up the stairs and slammed my bedroom door behind me. I locked the door then threw myself onto the bed and sobbed. I got up and went into my bathroom. I saw a bottle of pills on the counter... I picked it up and looked at it then looked in the mirror. My hair was a mess, my makeup was running, and my eyes were puffy. I started to open the bottle, but I put it down... I decided I wouldn't go to school tomorrow... I was going to stay home and rest... That would be the best thing for me right now. Today had been very stressful.. The whole thing with Calum earlier to my parents not giving a shit about me what so ever... I needed a good day of doing absoulutly nothing...
