"Why did you say we were dating?" Irene quietly asked. Suho was trembling, he wasn't sure what to do or say. He was quiet for a few seconds, his mind searching for an excuse.
"I- uhh I... Y-You looked uncomfortable. I uhh didn't know what else to say." Suho finally said, lying through his teeth.
"Oh..." Irene simply replied, looking down. Suho noticed the disappointment in her voice and her face. He was a little taken aback by her lack of response.
After a few seconds, he realized that this was his chance. He decided that he's gonna risk everything to confess to her right this second. If he doesn't do this now, he might never get the chance to.
He took a deep breath, gathering his courage to do what he's about to do.
"Actually, no. This wasn't the reason." Suho said, gaining Irene's full attention. "What do you mean?" Irene questioned, even though she already knew the answer.
"The reason wasn't because you were uncomfortable. Well, maybe it was but not exactly." Suho further explained. "Then why?" She asked again.
Suho took a deep breath before finally saying the words he's been wanting to say for so long. "Because I like you and I was jealous." He said, his voice slightly shaky due to his nervousness.
Irene couldn't say anything. She was expecting those words, she knew what he was about to say but as the words came out of his mouth, she was speechless.
"A-aren't you gonna saya anything?" Suho stuttered, starting to get more and more nervous, thinking of the worst possible scenarios in his head.
Irene was mad at herself. She has been waiting for these words ever since they sat down earlier but why couldn't she say anything right now?
After a few seconds of her gathering herself back together, she finally managed to choke out a few words. "Sorry... I was a-" was all she got to say before Suho interrupted her.
"Don't apologise, I won't force you to like me or anything. I just wanted to let it all out, I guess I'll go now." Suho said, while hurriedly walking out of the cafe and back to his dorm.
Irene was beyond shocked. She was about to say that she felt the same way. She only wanted to apologise for taking a long time to calm herself but Suho misunderstood her.
