all three big concerts were finally almost done, irene and suho were both onstage along with all of the attendees of the final concert, waiting for the new years countdown.

"5..4..3..2..1! Happy New Year!" everyone shouted as the clock stroke midnight, happily hugging one another and wishing them a happy new year.

suho hesitated a couple times before making up his mind and walked towards irene to talk to her. he was already beside her but she was engaged in a conversation with someone else so he decided to wait.

irene hugged yoona, the person who she was talking to, only to face suho who was already looking at her.

"happy new year." she said as the two locked eyes and suho couldn't help but smile. "happy new year to you too" he said to her before he was pulled into a hug by his friends.

the countdown stage was over and everyone started leaving the stage. suho looked around, looking for irene and when he found her, he immediately walked over to her.

she was walking with her group of friends so he just walked behind her. he subconsciously reached out to tap her shoulder but his hands lingered in the air as he realized there must be lots of cameras around here, shooting them.

after a few seconds, he dropped his hands and continued to walk backstage.

as soon as they both reached backstage, suho immediately put his arm around irene's shoulder. "you didn't forget about today, didn't you?" he asked and she looked at him, a bit surprised.

"today?" she questioned. "you promised to treat me, how could you forget?" suho asked, acting hurt that she had forgotten their plans.

"oh right! sorry, i totally forgot! where do you wanna eat?" she asked, laughing at suho's funny way of acting that he's hurt.

a.n. this was inspired by their interaction on 2017 gayo daejun but dont get ur heads up folks, this is all simply my imagination :)
