Chapter 18

Carls POV

I listened as Lightning sobbed and I was gonna say something but soon her crying stopped and her breathing slowed a little and she was asleep. All I did was roll over and talk to her about it later.

Lightning's POV

I woke up and it was still dark out. I walked out of mine and Carls cell to see uncle Daryl awake and sitting drinking something in a bottle.

"Hey." I whispered.

"Hey."

"What are you doing up?" I asked.

"I could ask you the same thing." Uncle Daryl said.

"Unc.... I mean Daryl... Haha I always forget you don't like me calling you uncle Daryl."

"Makes me feel old." He chuckled and took another dip of his drink and made a weird face.

"What is that?"

"Moonshine."

"Daryl!" I whisper yelled.

"What?" He asked calmly

"You shouldn't be drinking!" I whispered yelled again and I grabbed the bottle taking it outside with my uncle behind me.

"Give that back Lightning!" Daryl screamed once we were outside and he started to run towards me but I ran away.

I ran all the way down to the fence and smashed the bottle by throwing it at the fence as hard as I could.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Uncle Daryl yelled at me.

"REMEMBER LAST TIME YOU GOT DRUNK UNCLE!" I screamed back fighting tears.

He said nothing just looked at the ground.

"I wasn't... I wasn't getting drunk." He sighed.

"I don't care what you were doing! You promised me you would NEVER DRINK AGAIN!" I raised my voice at the last three words.

"I'm sorry Lightning."

"You promised me!" I broke down into sobs and Daryl came over to comfort me. At first I rejected him and hit his chest multiple times screaming and saying he promised me but I soon gave up as he wouldn't let me go.

"You promised me..." I said barley above a whisper as I just cried into his chest.

"I know. I know. I'm sorry Lightning. I'm so so sorry!" Daryl kept whispering words into my ear and hugging me tightly but not to tight.

After I finally calmed down the sun was beginning to rise and Rick came out.

"Hey! What are you guys doing out here so early." He asked looking at us curiously. I still had my face into Daryl's chest and his arms were around me.

No one spoke.

Rick just walked away. I guess Daryl gave him a look or mouthed something to him. I stood up and extended my hand for uncle Daryl to take it. He took it and we stood up heading back to the prison.

"I'm gonna go talk to Rick. See what we're doing today." Uncle Daryl said kissing the top of my head and walking towards Rick.

"Okay. See ya later." I smiled and walked to the prison.

"Hey Beth!" I smiled as Beth held Judith. Some people were still asleep but most people in cell block A were awake including Glenn, Maggie, Beth, Judith, Hershel, Carol plus me, Rick and Daryl.

"Hey Lightning!" She smiled back and hummed a song to Judith.

I walked to my cell and saw Carl still sleeping. I quietly grabbed my shampoo and my shower sponge with body wash. I grabbed my towel and my extra pair of clothes and walked out.
