"Jimmy!" Melissa gasped. "What are you doing here?"
Jimmy's dark eyes raked her from head to foot. He gave her a slow smile. "Looking good, Melissa!"
"I asked you a question," Melissa reminded him.
"I heard you." Jimmy leaned against the door frame, stretching one arm up against it. His arm muscle swelled against the sleeve of his dark blue T-shirt. "Ive came to see you, Melissa, what do you think I'm doing here?"
"That's nice, but you're too late," Melissa told him. "The performance was over a long time ago."
"I wasn't interested in the show." He looked past her, into the room. "Aren't you going to invite me in?"
You wish, Melissa thought. She glanced over her shoulder. Her two roommates were standing like statues. Toni's mouth open in suprise. And steph with a sly smile on her face.
Turning back to jimmy, Melissa said, "Come on let's talk outside."
Jimmy's eyes narrowed. He stared at her for a moment longer. Then he gave her a charming smile and a mock bow as he stepped back.
Melissa went out, slamming the door behind her. "All right, jimmy," She said, moving quickly down the dim corridor towards the front of the motel. "Could we make this fast? I have to pack and be on a bus at eight in the morning."
"Come on, Mel, don't be like this," he said "I admit, I acted like a jerk, but I'm crazy about you, you know that."
Sighing, Melissa leaned against the soda machine.
"Aren't you even a little bit impressed that I drove all this way to see you?" Jimmy asked with a grin. "Where've you been, anyway?"
When Melissa didn't answer, Jimmy's grin disappeared. "Never mind," he said. "I already know."
Melissa stared at him. What did he mean by that? Had he been at the club, spying on her?
"Now I see why you were so hot on going on this tour," he continued. "It's a great way for you to meet guys."
"You don't know what you're talking about," Melissa said.
"Oh?" He cocked his head. And Raised a dark eyebrow. "So whys your face all red? It matches that sexy dress, Melissa. Is that the dress you wear to pack in or the one you used to attract some guy?"
Thinking of Elvis, Melissa felt her face get even hotter.
"I'm right, aren't I?" Jimmy said. He took a step closer and put his hand on her arm. "But that's all over now, babe. That's why I'm here, to get you back where you belong. With me, Melissa. "
"You're crazy! I didn't go on this tour to meet guys!" Melissa shouted. "You'll never understand why I joined the company - that's your whole problem!"
"Don't tell me I'm crazy, babe." Jimmy's voice was softer now. Dangerously soft.
"Then stop acting like it," Melissa told him. "Barging in on me in the middle of the night. Checking up on me. Accusing me of things that aren't true." She took a deep breath. "And stop calling me babe!"
Jimmy stared at her, his dark eyes narrowed.
"It's over, jimmy," Melissa said quietly. "We're over. I don't know how else to say it."
Jimmy still didn't say anything.
Melissa took another deep breath, then stepped past him and started back to the room.
"Hey, Melissa."
She turned around.
"Better watch yourself." Jimmy cocked his thumb, and stuck his forefinger at her like the barrel of a gun. "Babe."
Melissa froze in her tracks. Jimmy white was the stalker. And he was going to keep at it - unless she stopped him.
"Jimmy! Listen and listen carefully," She said. "Leave me alone. No letters. No flowers. No calls and no watching me. Stay out of my life or I'll make your life miserable!"
Jimmy started to say something but Melissa didn't give him a chance. Spinning on her heel, she left without a backwards glance.
