On Tuesday, Harry had to go back to school. The first day is always the longest day, because teachers pass out forms and classroom rules, neither of which seem very necessary. He's a Junior now, which means he's one more year closer to graduating. He still feels small, though.

Liam hasn't made any attempts at contacting him, so when Harry walks into second period—Physical Science—and finds that the only empty seat is next to Liam, his shoulders slouch.

That class was awkward, to say the least. Liam didn't take his eyes away from the front of the room for the whole 45 minutes they were sat there, and Harry sat as far away from him as possible. Lunch wasn't very fun, either, because he usually would have sat with Liam. Instead, some Sophomore's waved him over.

He's seen them in the halls before, back when they were Freshmen and were wandering around, focusing on the room numbers. He sits down hesitantly, not quite sure why they want to befriend him all of a sudden. It's always weird for the different years to interact with each other, especially if an upperclassmen doesn't make the first move.

"Harry, right?" One of them asks, sliding her chair over so Harry isn't crowded.

He nods.

"I'm Kelsey, nice to meet you."

Harry shakes the blonde girls hand, smiling politely back at her.

"That's Luke, he's a senior," Kelsey continues.

A boy with a black lip ring smiles and waves. Kelsey and him look alike, what with their matching blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

"Ciara, sophomore," Kelsey points to a petite girl with black hair that reaches her waist.

"And that is Annie, Junior, just like you," Kelsey smiles, concluding the introductions.

Annie is eyeing Harry up and down, has been ever since he sat in the chair. Her hair is dyed a dark blue and her nose is pierced, along with several earrings lining her ears. She looks like a proper badass, especially now that she's looking at Harry the way she is. Harry doesn't realize he's staring back until Annie smirks, an evil one that tears his eyes away.

The table is circular, so everyone can see everyone, but it also means he's stuck sitting sort of next to Annie, but not quite. He feels really awkward.

Luke breaks the silence. "Have you ever been to a party?"

Harry shakes his head no.

"Aw, he's so cute!" Ciara announces, smiling a toothy smile.

He almost says "I'm older than you..." but stops himself. Replying back sarcastically probably won't make him any friends. So instead, he just forces a smile upon his face and returns his attention back to Luke.

"Well, you're in for a treat. I'm throwing a party on Friday, and you should come."

They all nod in agreement.

"Um, I don't know..."

Annie rolls her eyes. Kelsey puts her hand on his shoulder. "Come on, it's just a little party. It's the first one of the year, you have to go!"

Harry sighs quietly before nodding his head, and apparently they all understood what he meant, because they cheered in glee. With the exception of Annie, of course.

"Luke really only throws parties in the hopes of getting laid," Ciara clarifies.

"What? I do not!" Luke says, glaring at her. She smiles.

Kelsey rolls her eyes and turns to Harry. "Not that it really matters, but Luke here is the only 17-year-old that's still a virgin."

"Oh."

"Whatever," Luke huffs, crossing his arms. "Anyways, I'll text you my address, yeah?"

Harry simply nods, taking out his phone and opening up the contacts app. He watches as the phone is passed from Kelsey, to Luke, to Ciara, each of them saving their numbers into his phone. When it reaches Annie's hands, she slides it back to Harry without so much as a glance. Okay then...

The rest of the lunch is spent chatting about random things, including their teachers and classes. It's when they get to the topic of jobs that Harry starts to panic slightly.

"I work at a water park. It's not too far from here, actually. But I lose the job next Monday, now that school has started," Kelsey states, picking at her fingernails.

"Taco Bell." Luke sighs at the distasteful job.

"The pet store!" Ciara happily says with a glint in her eye.

"What about you, Annie?" Kelsey asks, tilting her head to the side.

"The hospital. Au bon pain, actually."

It's the first time she's spoken since he joined their little group. Harry remembers going there with Louis when his mom was in the hospital, but he doesn't remember seeing her.

"Where do you work, Harry?" Ciara asks with a smile.

"I don't, um, work anywhere?" His statement comes out as a question, causing the group to give him confused looks.

"Really?"

Harry nods, embarrassed and nervous. But they don't say anything else, just carry on with a new topic; food.

Harry likes that he's made some new friends, but he doesn't like how he may have just lost the most important one.
